As an IRCA accredited Principal Auditor for ISO standards, my task was to perform Third Party & Second Party Audits for International Projects, Suppliers, and to provide Consultancy for Corporate Joint Venture / Consortium QMS Alignment, as well as Expertise for ISO 9001:2015 Management System transfers & Management of Changes, including where was the case - Projects at risk - mitigation and contingency strategy, for completion and schedule / cost re-balancing.
During this period, my additional assignment was also Interim COO / Partner, for a major action of business change / transfer business shares, that was concluded successfully.
Haradh and Hawiyah Gas Compresion Project is a Mega Program worth 4.6 Billion USD, to which Tecnicas Reunidas took LSTK responsibility of building a State of Art Integrated Gas Compression Plants (all 3 Packages) worth 2.7 Billion USD. As a SAUDI ARAMCO approved Senior QA Manager for Tecnicas Reunidas, my responsibility is to prove the highest possible Quality Standards are applied and achieved in the Project, as well as the QMS is implemented, maintained and improved by the new requirements of ISO 9001:2015, having also the QMR responsibility.
Employed on a very fast track project to create, implement, certify and continually improve an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & OHSAS 18001:2007 Integrated Management System, to a professional Corporation represented by an International Holding Conglomerate of Companies, with various EPC / EPCCM / EPIC, Onshore - Offshore, Marine and Heavy Industry - Scopes, in Oil & Gas Industry.
Building a Mega-Project 4800 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP), in Sahara Desert - Beni Suef, by a Consortium SIEMENS - El Sewedy PSP, for Egypt Gov. - a Gas Powered Turbines Newest High End Technology of Siemens Type SGT5-8000H (+HRSGs & STs), is the world's biggest gas-fired combined cycle power plant complex. As the Master-mind of delivery for the Phase 1 - 2800 MW Open Cycle, to this fast track project, my assignment was to manage a Team of 91 Engineers, 3 QC Managers for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, for QC dept. alone, aside of 11 major Contractors with their QC Teams. Moreover, the Phase 1 is completed, PAC achieved and 2800 MW Open Cycle Gas Fired Turbines are in commercial service, one month before the Contractual dates. The Phase 2 - CC, will begin delivery to the Client, in 2018.
Corporate Management Representative major task was hands-on each Country Branch and Legal Established Location took by foot and Create, Implement, Certify and Maintain a Centralized Management System according with requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001, or mixed, but customized per Branches Business requirements, executing Internal Audits and representing the Board at External Audits. Each Branch actually has highly customized Management System requirements, due to local laws and following a 4 years effort, with minimum consultancy and human resources costs to the Corporation, SEPAM is now certified in Ireland HQ, UK, KSA, QAT, UAE, Malaysia and China, by Lloyd's Register due to these efforts by ISO 9001 Standard in each Country Branch, and as my task force was to run also the Quality (Projects QA/QC) Operations in parallel to 5 Major EPC Projects as QA, in 3 other Countries.
Perform a Program for Major Management of Changes, from the position of Region Quality Head for this respected and professional Corporation with Infrastructure, Gas & Oil, MEP & Instrumentation Projects Worldwide, for the specifics of their Regional - Middle East Organization. My task was to implement the basis & principles of a 4 stages Business Plan of Regional Organization Changes, foreseen the Corporate Integrated Management Certification ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001, while Certify and maintain the QMS 2008 in the Region. The first stage of this Program is successfully completed with ISO 9001:2008 Certification of QMS of Qatar Branch, by one of the most stringent CB in the world.
Regional COO the main task were to perform Major Management of Changes to Region Romania & immediate surroundings, reshape its Management System for new established Legal Entity, as well as Technical Director of 2 Divisions Industrial Certification - Pressure Devices and ISO Management Division - the Certification Body Segment.
For Industrial Certification Division - Coordination and control for all Third Party Industrial Certifiers Division for CE Mark Type Certification of Pressure Vessels, Boilers, Pipelines & for Welding Technologies, as well as Profit & Loss Administration for Region Romania & surrounding area. Representing the Countrywide Legal Entity of the NB 0036 - which is a NANDO EC Notified Body, for PED, TPED, RID, ADR and other Directives, as well as ASME, Nuclear & Nuclear In-service verification / expertise. Also Legal & Technical Signatory Body for Pressure Vessels In-service Certificate, I was Signing- off Attested Body for Expertise to Extend the Pressure Equipment Life Time, in the range up to 2400 Bar Live Steam vessels & 1050 T/H Boilers (by RBI, Risk Assessment and Failure / Crack Analyses Expertise), as well as Offshore Plants Pressure Vessels, ASME Audits and ISM / MODU Expertise. Additionally, more than 5000 Welder's Qualification WPQR & over 1000 WBS were Certified at 240 Companies, with my team from this Operative Division.
Parallel with Industry Division, my undertaken assignment for 1 year and 7 months, was Certification Manager for the Certification Body and Operative running all ISO Management Systems Certification Division by Coordination, P&L, Control and Budget responsible for this Business Stream, as well. Representative of Local Legal Entity as Manager of Certification Body, accredited by TUV SUD Germany, beside a Lead Auditor conducting Audits to strategic Clients, my task was assessor of all technical aspects of Audits for my team of Lead Auditors and mentoring them. During this time was certified over 200 Companies or Corporations for ISO 9001 / ISO 14001, / OHSAS 18001 / ISO TS 16949 / HACCP - ISO 22000 / ISMS - ISO 27001 / SA8000 Certification, by own Audits and with my Team.
From the position of Chief Operating Officer with hands-on the critical International Contracts as Partner to Own Business, we were developing the Company to an International Portfolio reference of Projects Consultancy and also concept / engineering / implementation of ISO Management Systems, beside Technical & Business Consultancy Services to Clients, my task was also to provide professional ISO Auditor / Lead Auditor services for Certification Bodies. Portfolio: ISO 9001 Audits, more than 50 Third Party Audits for Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars & Bureau Veritas, as well as Second Party / Supplier Audits, 2 Projects successful of implementation QMS for PlusNav & Amprent (welding based Organizations), 1 Turnaround International Program for Quality / Projects Management & Major Changes Management Consulting for Funkwerk Plettac Electronics GmbH in Germany and Algeria.
An ISO Alliance Europea Turnaround Project Management Program at Safety, Security / Surveillance Projects, deployed in Algerian Sahara - Hassi Messaoud for Gas / Oil Industry, for a joint venture Group of a local Algerian Civil / Infrastructure Company - Contel with Funkwerk Plettac Electronic GmbH Germany, as EPC Contractors of Sonatrach. First two of the three projects that "Groupement" have secured with its Client, were reached to Provisional Acceptance Certificate under my assignment, the QMS and the Project Management System (PMS) were maturated by me, from concept / implement procedures, QC Management, up to commissioning coordination and Quality Assurance. The Contracts of Groupement with Sonatrach were in French language.
Alstom Power was a reputable player for Power Generation market, GTX is a project of 220M for Gas Turbine Power Generation and HRSG - Combined Cycle 150 MW phase 4 Plant integration of 1.2 GW made for DUBAI Aluminium Co. (DUBAL). While controlling all suppliers & Vendors quality related activity and being responsible for ITP and master file compilation, I was building the Project Management System as per requirements of ISO 9001 and responsible of Site QMS building and maintain, managing teams of QC Supervisors, Commissioning Engineers, QA Specisalists & QA Managers of Turnkey subcontractors (like Cokerill Maintenance & Industrie - CMI for HRSG).
Western Libyan Gas Project - Is consisting 16 Systems + infrastructure (towers, steel buildings, civil works), Solar Power Plants to 26 Sites (Valve station) & a Pipeline of 587 KM throughout desert and subsea 110 KM, a GOSP concatenating 1278 sq. Km of Gas extraction gathering in desert - Ghadames Area & a Complex Refinery Seashore having a load ship Jetty, and two Simple Cycle Gas Powered Plants of 45 MW - one for each & a Gas Platform Offshore. Special Systems: Fiber Optical backbone (3 rings), SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), SCADA, MTRS (TETRA), LAN/WAN and 18 Server Hubs, with CCTV, IDS, ACS (3 security systems), and VHF (Air & Marine radio), HF-SSB (tactical single side band), PA/GA, PBX, Meteo, LOS (Microwave) as the TLC systems part. Beside Comm. & Start Up until PAC, my task was to implement, certify & maintain Project’s Integrated QMS, EMS & OHSAS (IMS), according with NATO AQAP, achieved through Lloyd’s Register, where was also integrating all €16 Billion WLGP, by final “As built” including Process Equipment, SAT controlled ESD, all Fire Protection & Special Systems, by ALCATEL ISD being the Leading Contracting Entity. Tools created / implemented by me: Primavera, Oracle db, SQL, Access db, Win server 3, IMS, PMO, Final Dossier, EPCCM & Site deployment & Master File compilation. Project was deployed in Libyan Sahara Desert, Seashore & Sea Offshore.
Representative of a General Technical Services & Maintenance Contract for Oil & Gas Industry Offshore - Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Corrosion, Fire Proofing, Piping, Cladding & Maintenance Scope, to an Offshore Oil Field Operated by Agip Oil, and also had the majority of employees on the platforms, up to the Oil Field Management Level - employees on Rotation (i.e. the FPSO Superintendent). Bouri Offshore Oil Field is a Two PLATFORMS, 64 Wells and one FPSO Deep Sea - 1130 square miles Pack, at 110 miles Mediterranean Offshore Libya. My task was General Offshore Field Management, Budget / P&L / PM / PMO and all side Projects secured within the Contract Framework, including Tendering and Bid evaluation for other Offshore Oil Fields & Technical Kickoff Meeting, when secured. The Contract was around 5M/year value for personnel Hour/rates & averages 15M/year for lumpsums.
Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industry is an "Aframax & Cape Size Vessels" Shipyard, the subsidiary of Daewoo Okpo Korea. My share was 43 projects completion, within all assignments period.
Ship Repair Corrosion & Coating department activity:
- Department Supervisor with hands-on operations / projects, managing both customer relations and contractors, with a sales target of 9M/year - achieved 15M/year. Completed / Closed / Put back in Service nos. 32 Projects of Ship Repair, during 3 years.
Goals and outstanding achievement at shipbuilding part: Blocks & Hull designing / implementing a five semesters Q.A.-Q.C. three steps (block / hull / integration) engineering coating system for New Building, instructing personnel (both foremen and workers) for the newly-applied blasting/coating system in accordance with standards, over a number of 11 Projects Ship Building completed.
Leading crew on deck for regular activity on-board vessel (ship boss), for worldwide Ocean Going AFRAMAX size vessels.
Senior Foreman coordinator at Evropa Sandblasting, a corrosion based - blasting/tank coating Greek-owned Company, using hands-on heavy duty equipment such as Ultra High Pressure Water Jet devices, Sandblasting nozzles of all kinds, Spray Paint devices of all sizes dozes and I have apply these at level of Kg-material per Square meter, as well as assigned to verify and coordinate / planning teams of workers and Foreman Juniors, to their job according specifications, at level of specified Standards.
At the beginning of my career started as deck-boy on ships traveling around the world and naturally being promoted, during my work to Able Bodied Seaman, Sailor, Helmsman & due to my learning will, up to the Ship Boss (boatswain).
