  Establish and maintain the audit strategy consistent with organization’s objectives, strategic planning and governance policy.
 Determine the level of resources required by GIA to achieve its mandate and approved audit plan economically, effectively and efficiently.
 Co-ordinate activities with internal and external providers ( external auditors, Joint venture’s company’s auditor and regulatory auditors) of relevant audit and assurance services and sharing information in concurrent and prompt manner to ensure proper coverage and minimize duplication of efforts.
 Develop and implement the Internal Audit charter and audit manual with a comprehensive guidance on all relevant aspects of the audit functions to promote the highest level professional competence in GIA and provide a basis for measuring audit performance.
 Drawing up and manage the development of risk-based audit plan with budget including group level and cross functional internal audits and assurance services consistent with internal audit charter and objective of the organization and designed to add value and improve business and operations.
 Develop structured audit process system to be used to conduct, monitor and complete audit engagements within assigned budget and deadline by establishing tracking and scheduling system, quality of fieldworks, working papers and documentation, analyzing audit evidence and risk assessment, adequate monitoring and supervision and redesigned of audit report formats.
 Manage and monitor internal audit function and performance of internal audit department (including special assignments and investigation requested by senior management and audit committee) throughout engagement’s cycle including planning, Schedule & budget, developing audit programs, , internal audit risk assessment, fieldworks, working papers, supervision, reviewing & analyzing the audit evidence, audit reports, audit client survey, quality assurance, and post implementation review.
 Develop the internal quality review program and discuss with audit committee to ensure internal audit activities add value to the organization by providing quality assurance and consultancy services. i.e. internal assessment ( ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews), external assessment, reporting of the quality assurance and improvement program and statement of conformance.
 Provide reports on audit activities to senior management and audit committee quarterly covering a description of significant issues and weaknesses, deficiencies in internal controls, highlighting areas of organization’s environment that pose the highest risk and abuses discovered during the quarter and related GIA recommendations.

 Establish and monitor post-audit survey of auditee to gauge satisfaction and obtain management’s feedback about internal audit activities’ effectiveness via “client-survey report” and further improving audit performance based on feedback.
 Establish and endorse continuous improvement of audit department’s members through outcome of different audit projects, periodical training, workshops & seminars, presentation by managers and auditors, brainstorming sessions and online knowledge sharing etc,

 Stays abreast of general business & economic developments and new pronouncements & standards to gain and update the understanding and impact in the company.
