Education

Bachelor's degree, Architecture Interior Architecture & Design of Objects
  • at School of the Art Institute of Chicago
  • December 2015

I have been preparing myself for a career in Design & Architecture since my early high school years where I majored in Art and chose a curriculum that best suited my career goals. I always knew I wanted to be a designer. I had no idea I would be designing kitchens and baths but after a few years working with an East Coast Architect; Joseph Asfour helped me realized where my strengths were. I have worked as a Kitchen Designer since and slowly working towards a degree in Architecture. Program Description: The Bachelor of Fine Arts—Architecture Pathway allows students to develop an understanding of conditions within the urban environment that calls for a more holistic, systemic, and re-directive approach toward the role that architecture can and should play in society. The knowledge threads that inform the core design studios integrate an ethical concern with the promise of technological inventiveness and an understanding of design history and theory with spatial explorations that look toward the future without ignoring Chicago’s great architectural heritage. The Designed Objects Pathway focuses on the critical and creative rethinking of the systems, tools, furnishings, and products that we use or interact with in our everyday lives. Investigations into how objects extend human potential and inspire imagination are balanced with studies in the responsible and imaginative use of new technologies, materials, and production processes. A concern for sustainability provides an opportunity to explore alternative visions of how we live, work, communicate, and play.

Bachelor's degree, Industrial Design
  • at Robert Busch School of Design at Kean University
  • December 2010

After my first Degree I was proudly accepted into the Industrial Design Program in the Robert Busch School of Design at Kean University where I expanded my working knowledge. I learned the History of Industrial Design, a sound understanding of the design idealization process, object modeling techniques and presentation. I attended the program for 1 year. After being asked to relocate by a previous employer I decided to transfer my credits to The School of the Arts Institute of Chicago.

Diploma, Associates in Business Management
