Employed on a first of its kind project - Saudi Aramco’s early unconventional gas release project in Jafurah, Saudi Arabia as the HSE Project Manager. I had come into the project that had been 8 months into construction of which already had two site safety managers appointed of which I needed to oversee. The HSE team lacked leadership and direction of which was a pivotal part of my function.

Achievements

• Increased PSI’s from an average of 65% over the period of 8 months to 95%
• Gained trust and built a great working relationship with Saudi Aramco company rep
• Achieved 2 million safe manhours worked without LTI
• Developed a successful safety cultural improvements program



Main Job Function:
• Overall responsible for a staff of 44 employees which include 2 site safety managers

My assignment to Angola for Chevron (Rotational)to develop, establish&spearhead Departmental Chevron - Malongo, production maintenance and has been of great success to date, resulting in increased quarterly CHESM audits to an average of 95.5%, projectefficiency, recognized local content skills training & awareness and the implementation of required industry regulations & procedures whilst reducing previous accident & incident rates to zero.

Roles&Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development of the overall Operations Support and HSE strategy by providing the HSE related input and plans in line with the overall organizational objectives.
• Ensure that the strategy is translated into HSE operational plans and monitor performance during the course of the year.
•Provide guidance to and assist the Corporate and Project teams with the implementation of Chevron’s HSE initiatives, functions and systems.
•These responsibilities relate to both internal processes/controls for the corporate and projects; and external coordination with consultants, contractors, suppliers and other service providers.
•Develop, enhance and continuously improve the policy and procedures related to the HSE across Chevron projects and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of activity to ensure adherence and effective implementation.
•Report to Management on the adequacy and effectiveness of CHevron’s HSE Project Management System and recommend areas for improvements.
