• Provide overall leadership, coordination, and facilitation of HSE activities for the project through all construction activities to deliver against companies’ expectations and ensure Operations Readiness

implemented and achieved on the Project, for maintaining functional links with the Division and for ensuring that the safety reviews are conducted in a timely and proper manner to comply with Project HSE targets
• Coordinate/Assist with Emergency Response activities for the project Site
• Coordinate HSE activities within the Project Group
• Communicate HSE matters to project management
• Supervise and keep records for area specific HSE audits, reports, certifications, permits, etc.
• Directly responsible for management of compliance to regulations related to the Site, and responsible for interfacing with the Contractors to verify compliance of the facility
• Identification, mitigation, and reduction of hazards on Site
• Ensure daily liaison with contractor(s) and manage their performance with regards to contract requirements
• Participate in all necessary meetings with contractors (weekly progress meeting, monthly status meetings, technical meetings, planning meetings, etc.)
• Follow up equipment testing activities (Commissioning) performed by contractor(s)
o Train, monitor and coach employees / contractors to improve skill level to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards of HSE processes in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
Employed on a first of its kind project - Saudi Aramco’s early unconventional gas release project in Jafurah, Saudi Arabia as the HSE Project Manager. I had come into the project that had been 8 months into construction of which already had two site safety managers appointed of which I needed to oversee. The HSE team lacked leadership and direction of which was a pivotal part of my function.

• Increased PSI’s from an average of 65% over the period of 8 months to 95%
• Gained trust and built a great working relationship with Saudi Aramco company rep
• Achieved 2 million safe manhours worked without LTI

Main Job Function:
• Overall responsible for a staff of 44 employees which include 2 site safety managers
• Provide leadership to the HSE team
• Advise the construction management team on best practice’s
• Ensure compliance to Saudi Aramco’s Contractor Safety Manual

My assignment to Angola for Chevron (Rotational)to develop, establish&spearhead Departmental Chevron - Malongo, production maintenance and has been of great success to date, resulting in increased quarterly CHESM audits to an average of 95.5%, projectefficiency, recognized local content skills training & awareness and the implementation of required industry regulations & procedures whilst reducing previous accident & incident rates to zero.
Roles&Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development of the overall Operations Support and HSE strategy by providing the HSE related input and plans in line with the overall organizational objectives.
• Ensure that the strategy is translated into HSE operational plans and monitor performance during the course of the year.
•Provide guidance to and assist the Corporate and Project teams with the implementation of Chevron’s HSE initiatives, functions and systems.
•These responsibilities relate to both internal processes/controls for the corporate and projects; and external coordination with consultants, contractors, suppliers and other service providers.
•Develop, enhance and continuously improve the policy and procedures related to the HSE across Chevron projects and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of activity to ensure adherence and effective implementation.
•Report to Management on the adequacy and effectiveness of CHevron’s HSE Project Management System and recommend areas for improvements.
•Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives for the team, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisals in order to maximise overall performance.
•Lead the team of all HSE Engineers to ensure the effective implementation of the Peterson’s Quality & Safety requirements, systems, principles and objectives.

•Manage the tender evaluation process specific to HSE requirements.
•Review and approve the contractors HSE documents and reports.
•Lead meetings with internal staff, contractors, sub-contractors and vendors to review HSE progress on frequent basis as required. Analyze and address critical areas and provide prompt solution.
•Monitor all related activities within project(s) site(s) and conduct regular inspection to ensure that the work is being carried out in line with approved JSAs, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and approved Permit to Work Systems as well as latest instructions.
Ensure that all necessary HSE records are identified and retained in accordance with Chevron’s and Regulatory & Statutory Bodies requirements.
•Ensure performance data are provided on a timely basis as requested for reporting purposes.
•Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools and best practices in project management in relation to HSE practices.

PURPOSE
In order to ensure that the company was able to operate on the highest levels, it was critical that comprehensive
HSE standards and procedures were developed and embraced by existing and future operations and projects. A
concerted effort was required to undertake, prepare and implement a comprehensive strategy of education, training
and support across a culturally and linguistically diverse portfolio of activity.
HSE PRACTITIONER MENTORING
With continuous challenges in the labor market, I found it necessary to undertake an aggressive program of
developing and mentoring to become HSE professionals and thus ensure that that the company can be confident
the corporate standards and appropriate HSE culture can be achieved and maintained.
HSE SYSTEM APPLICATION
Support provided for operational leaders in developing a blue print for effective operations and project
development. The blueprint defines the standard applications, infrastructure and work practices to support the
business processes at each operation or project stage, with an immediate focus on developing and enhancing HSE

by clarifying roles and responsibilities, providing the necessary support and tools, as well as measuring progress with
regard to management system implementation. Design, build and implement the blue print at an identified pilot

management system components - Standardize data collection and control systems at each project. Measure key
metrics that drive the effectiveness of HSE activities across the organization

Ensure that the design and implementation of HSE management systems conform to established HSE standards,
policies and guidelines and comply with federal, provincial, state and municipal legislation. Track and evaluate
