Job Description
• Work on project with client to improve their supply chains by working capital optimization, global supply chain transformation, logistics and distribution network redesign, etc.
• Working with business client area to identify and execute sourcing projects that reduce risk, timeline and/or cost, while adding value without sacrificing service or quality
• Leading sourcing projects including strategy development, market analysis, supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationship management.
• Act as a true team player in the project team and collaborate with different functions at our client's site: Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, etc.
• Ensuring appropriate procurement of all production, construction and maintenance materials, including 5 years spare parts and client material
• Identify the key wants/needs of major players (Finance, Sales, Operations) and begin modeling a straw man process
• Directing the Development and implementation of key procurement Strategies / contingency plans and ensuring that strategies and plans are aligned with organizational objectives
• Sourcing and rate negotiation of material locally and worldwide with proper incomer's, delivery time and quality
• Preparing & managing logistics & transport budgets, monitoring expenditure and implementing remedial measures where appropriate
• Negotiation with free zones and local authority
• Working with business leaders who have identified a business need or requirement to identify, source, contract, and procure the needed good or service from qualified suppliers
• Managing supplier performance (monthly, quarterly, half yearly, annual)
• Managing and training staff in the operation of Logistics, Procurement, Expediting, warehousing, materials systems
• Implementing technologies, processes, policies, and procedures to support the whole purchasing process
• Analyzing contracts for effectiveness, identifying areas of weakness and implementing improvements to increase margins
• Assisting in tender agreements, providing quality information pertaining to bids
• Controlling departmental budgets
• Getting goods and services for the best price and value
• Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process and fast production times
• Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively
• Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers
• Contract management and negotiation
• Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business
• Dealing with international suppliers
• Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading
• Operate within budgetary limitations and requirements
• Ensure "project start-up meetings" are held when required, so that all participating parties understand the project history.
• Visit project sites as necessary, but at a minimum of one-week intervals
• In the absence or termination of subordinates or other project staff, ensure continuity of workflow
• Actively support and participate in the Project Managers Association (PMA)
