- Develop the Supply Chain & Logistics department strategies and operational plans to support the company’s business plan, budgeting, sales forecasts, and production plans.
- Collaborate with department heads to evaluate existing processes and develop improvement plans to elevate operational efficiency & effectiveness.
- Forecast annual inventory demand and develop a supporting operational plan.
- Review monthly inventory reports and monitor inventory levels to achieve highest inventory availability.
- Generate quarterly inventory reports, compare forecasted vs actual inventory levels, and take necessary corrective actions to minimize deviations.
- Evaluate current stocks in terms of value & aging to ensure healthy stocks.
- Monitor the procurement & logistics operations to ensure policies & procedures are followed.
- Direct and coordinate the supply chain functions through strategy and resource optimization to maximize profitability.
- Review and evaluate supplier’s technical and commercial proposals.
- To enhance awareness of the global market trend and ensure materials are being purchased at the best price possible.
- Assess requests received from the sales force which will assist in decision making based on the global market situation and the demand historical data.
- Ensure departmental policies and procedures are effective to assist maximize competitiveness in the local market.
- Initiate a second stage of negotiation with the various suppliers to achieve better price/delivery/payment-terms and maximize profit margins.
- Continuously assess current suppliers to ensure the premium level of products quality and/or highest level of service.
- Explore the global market for new trusted/reputable suppliers for various products.
- Reduce expenses incurred on materials purchased to ensure lowest materials landed cost which will assist in accumulating higher margins and profitability.
- Monitor and assess the global logistics status to assist in planning for the availability of the materials and avoid falling short on inventory levels.
- Manage and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of materials needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
- Review suppliers/service-providers invoices for accuracy and correctness before submitting to the Accounting & Finance team for processing.
- Report to suppliers any complaints raised by customers about defective products supplied and ensure that the supplier resolves the problem.
- Monitor and take corrective action in terms of inventory levels in response to the reporting of the warehouse team during random inventory checking throughout the year.
- Identify and report discrepancies and/or damages pertaining to received materials back to suppliers and reach an arrangement for adjustment of discrepancies and/or compensation for damages.
- Report and coordinate with insurance companies for claims pertaining to received materials.
- Generate purchase reports to monitor and assure timely receiving of purchased materials to meet customer’s needs and project deadlines.
- Lead the supply chain, logistics, and warehouse team in executing best practices to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in terms of meeting the sales team requirements in a timely manner.
- Conduct yearly appraisals of the department’s team members.
