• Design, plan and implement strategies, plans and procedures for the support functions.
• Lead and guide, in coordination with the CEO and CFO, the Company’s annual budgeting process.
• Provide guidance for setting up the overall planning and controlling function, developing and implementing proper systems, policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the CMA operational requirements, investment operations and local laws and regulations.
• Implement and facilitate the strategic direction and policies of the support functions activities.
• Manage the support functions namely IT, Operations and Human Resources and ensure adequate controls and measures are in place for all activities.
• Contribute to business reengineering and continuous improvement, digitization and automation of processes.
• Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all related department to achieve the Company’s objectives.
• Develop and oversee proper succession plan for the key positions.
• Create and oversee the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes.
• Monitor contractors’ performance; negotiate maintenance contracts with suppliers.
• Monitor and review operational activities including settlements and transfers, reconciliation, client static data, custody support services, corporate actions and reporting activities.
• Establish and enhance relationships with regulatory authorities to ensure that all regulatory reporting requirements are complied with.
• Review internal control and regulatory requirements and modify affected operations programs and reports accordingly.
• Supervise the managers of all support functions to ensure that tasks are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure that BCP Plan is up to date that BCP testing is conducted on due time, verify and approve all BCP test results.
- Oversee the Bank’s Operations Division for the core areas of Trade Finance, Treasury BackOffice, Transfers & Payments, Checks Clearing, Cash management, Operational Policies & procedures.
- Direct all duties and functions of Operations Division.
- Develop and recommend Strategic plans and objectives for the Operations Division and monitor their implementations.
- Set policies and ensure effective implementation of set rules and procedures.
- Ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are applied and complied to consistently achieve required compliance standards and benchmarks.
- Manage operational and business risks to maximize profitability and minimize costs.
- Identify proactively risk areas and put in place remedial actions to mitigate that risk.
- Lead and ensure that Operations Division achieves high levels of efficiency, accuracy and speed of processing.
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports on all aspects of the business.
- Develop annual operating plans and budgets for Operations Departments so that the Bank is aware of anticipated revenues and costs.
- Monitor financial performance versus plans and budgets so that revenue enhancing opportunities are capitalized upon and areas of cost saving are identified.
- Benchmark the bank operations processing efficiency and service levels versus other banks within Lebanon and globally so that the bank adopts best operational practice.
- Member of the Management Committee which has responsibility for the strategic planning, policies, IT, HR and operational issues.
- Served as Head of Trading and Underwriting.
- Direct responsible of the following:
• Oversee and approve the financial, management, and regulatory reports (ICAAP, Pillar III, Zakat and Tax submission)
• Coordinate with External Auditors for the preparation and review of financial statements
• Responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company.
• Development of the Business Plan, financial and operational strategy, budgets, and the ongoing development and monitoring of the financial system.
• Approve monthly, quarterly and annual, as well as end year financial statements
• Ensure the proper monitoring of expenses as well as revenues accounts.
• Approve the disbursement of expenses
• Approve the reconciliation reports
• Analyze and manage the organization’s liabilities and investments
• Track and ensure cash flow is appropriate and sustainable
• Supervise finance personnel
• Manage and retain relationships with various vendors
- Develop and implement the accounting policies
- Maintain the Bank chart of account
- Maintain the profitability and financial reporting module (Sungard)
- Prepare and follow-up the budget reports with Divisions and Branches
- Coordinate with IT for developing reports to Divisions and Central Bank
- Control and administer Security System functions
- Develop and maintain tables related to profitability module (FTP, cost allocation, product, ledger, organizations, etc)
- Automate the reporting function in coordination with I.T
- Re-engineer performance reporting process
- Design and develop and the profitability reports for various Divisions and Branches
- Manage and supervise the following main functions:
- ATM Operations and Trouble-shooting
- Daily accounting and reconciliation
- Batch processing of the interchange, billing and settlement files
- Card Billing and payment processing
- Application processing, authorizations and collection functions
- Develop and implement the operational and accounting procedures of E-Banking operations
- Fraud monitoring and reporting
- Prepare profitability, activity and budget reports for the division in light of the Division Head targets
- Prepare statistical reports to the Central Bank and Visa International
- Conduct training sessions to Branches related to current and amended procedures
