The objective of this thesis is to develop an agile approach that helps to make rational decisions in the preliminary design phases. - The approach combines an optimization and decision-support method (MOIA: Morphogenesis, Observation, Interpretation, Aggregation) with systems engineering and machine learning. - The approach is applied on different projects (electric vehicle powertrain, thermal front-end module of the vehicle, MAV drone taxi) in order to evaluate the acceptability and usability of this approach.
