The focus of this role is to analyze the organization’s field quantitative and qualitative research on a regional level, in
order to develop evidence based policy recommendations.
● Assist the Research Director in designing, implementing, and analyzing perception surveys in Lebanon and Syria.
● Write analytical reports about the Arab World, with an initial focus on Syria and Lebanon that are clear, concise and
methodologically rigorous in their production.
Prepared a research paper for WANA Institute, a regional think tank, on the impact of integrating Syrian Refugees into
the Lebanese labour market. For this consultancy, I analyzed economic and statistical data as well as conducted
semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders.
Prepared presentations and speeches on behalf of senior ESCWA staff members related to the implementation of the
Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab region.
● Conducted background research for a possible pilot project related to the socioeconomic situation of Syrian refugees
in Lebanon.
● Assisted the Office of the Executive Secretary in the preparations for ESCWA’s 29th
Ministerial Session.
Extracted and analyzed protection data collected by the protection monitoring teams.
● Maintained an up-to-date protection database with accurate information on protection concerns identified by
Protection monitoring teams.
● Trained and supported teams to produce weekly basic data analysis and monthly trends analysis on protection
concerns, provide quality assurance of these reports.
● Produced high quality monthly protection reports and regular thematic protection reports for internal and external
dissemination.
● Provided trainings and on-the-job coaching on data collection and analysis to Protection Monitoring/MEL staff.
