• Nasser Institute for Research and Treatment is a specialized center (with 900 capacity beds and 21operating theatres). The registrar in the Institute passes through a five years training program, 3 years in general surgery, 6 months in casualty department, 6 months in plastic surgery and 1 year in vascular surgery. During which attendance in the O.R. is not less than 4 days weekly and not less than 2 rounds per week.
• Each week I had 2 major clinical rounds with senior consultants. The round includes discussion and decision making for the surgical patients, a journal clubs and discussion of the morbidity and mortality
• More than 1000 operations out of which nearly 50 percent major, abdominal and poytrauma cases and laparoscopic surgery
• Worked under supervision of staff of general Surgery and Pediatric Surgery of Cairo University, Al-Azhar University and Ain Shams University
• Operated independently on breast, head & neck Surgery (thyroid, parathyroid, parotid, submandibular procedures), hernia and lower GIT surgeries, laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
• Assisted in Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic procedures including (congenital, inflammatory and neoplastic, biliary reconstruction and segmental hepatic resection). and upper GIT surgery
• In Laparoscopic surgery, Cholecystectomy, Hiatus Hernia, Sleeve gastrectomy, Splenectomy, Hemicolectomy, diagnostic laparoscopy
• In Pediatric surgery I have worked as a first assistant in Hirschsprung disease, Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula, Diaphragmatic hernias, Exomphalos, Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis, Hypospadius
