Company Overview
UFC is one of the fastest growing restaurant operators in the state of Kuwait and the exclusive franchisee for a wide range of international restaurants chains, operating a number of 20 restaurants with a 500+ manpower. Recently UFC started penetrating GCC market by franchising one of its owned concepts.

Career Journey
I have joined UFC as Chef Accountant early in 2010 when only 5 restaurants was running, trough the time and as reorganization to my performance and company expansion promoted to Finance & Accounting Manager in 2012 reporting to Courtney GM. Later in 2016 and after Management Restructure started reporting to the Managing Partner (MP) as Director of Finance & Administration to oversees the company’s daily business activities, including Finance, Human Resources, procurement and logistics, Production, IT, Marketing.
Responsible for the performance of each function and reports back to MP. Play a key role in consolidating and standardizing company operations to facilitate future growth.
Essential Job Functions
Director of Finance & Administration works to improve processes and policies, manage administrative staff, and lead long term organizational planning. Specific responsibilities include:
Providing instructional leadership to department managers.
Acts as primary liaison with Universal Food Company landlords (and subtenants), develops and oversees office standard operating procedures.
Business process improvement by analyzing business activities redesign process to improve their operational performance and eliminate non-value added activities
Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data to enhance the company’s value.
Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve administrative operations.
Maintains vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Evaluates human resources procedures and technology solutions to improve data management, and identifies outsourcing opportunities.
Funds Management
Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
Maintain banking relationships
Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure
Arrange for equity and debt financing.
Budgeting
Collaborates with leadership to create long-term and short-term operating plans and establishes associated operating and capital budgets.
Manage the preparation of the company's annual master budget (I.e. Operation, Capital spending, Cash flow, HR, Procurement, production Budgets)
Using different budget preparation techniques (Static / Flexible / Zero-base / Rolling) based on different situations and different business needs
Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.
Financial Analysis
Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company
Review the performance of competitors and report on key issues to management
Engage in bench-marking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement
Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities
Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput
Participate in target costing activities to create products that meeting predetermined price goals
Assist in the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing
Compile key business metrics and report on them to management
Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis

Essential Job Functions (The Holding Company Level) :
Handling all accounts payable, receivables, fixed assets, financial statements, financial controlling, and financial reporting for the Holding Company.
Preparing Overhead and projects Budgets in collaboration with Project Control Department.
Preparing monthly cost statues report and compare with current budget and verify and analyze overrun costs.
Delivered management accounts, shareholder consolidation and investment, regulatory and accounting returns within strict deadlines.
Reviewing the reporting structures of new subsidiaries and recommending new procedures to enhance current management reports.
Essential Job Functions (Subsidiaries & Investments level )
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital for all subsidiaries (8 subsidiaries), and prepares Consolidated balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected Group financial position for other managers.
Analyze subsidiaries regular financial statements and prepare Financial Performance Report quarterly.
Prepare Business Financial Overview and Valuation Reports for other companies upon Management request.
