• Direct, advice, and review specifications for projects requiring extensive technical or Professional services or for complex construction projects.
• Locate cost effective vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales,
• Responsible for negotiation of Prices, finalization of contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures within the department, interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training
• Coordinate with user Departments and Divisions regarding improvement of enquiry packages contents with the objective of improving enquiry quality and to solicit better suppliers response securing delivery of the right materials at the right time and at the right price
• Control purchasing department budgets,
• Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
• Request annual spares, equipment and consumable requirement from conceder department compare requirements again previous year’s consumption and determined order quantities, which will met the ongoing needs of the production process
• Measure vendor performance. Cancel contract, suspend vendors not meeting performance requirements.
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
• Manage Purchasing Department in absence of Purchasing Manager
• Prioritize tasks and establish schedules to maintain uniform workload among Purchasing Department employees.
• Make effective independent decisions, and coordinate all day-to-day office functions and track Purchasing activity and measurements
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
• Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate company goals.
• Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and build up a wide customer’s base & develop the business depending on well knowledge of the Qatari market and personal contacts
• Develop creditworthiness with new clients negotiate on prices and provide rapid cost calculations and quotations
• Monitor and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
• Maintain and developing relationships with existing customers via meetings, telephone calls and emails
• Visit potential customers to prospect for new business
• Act as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets
