My role is to design, manage, and implement city-wide Digital Transformation strategies, in collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders, while ensuring the integration of impact-driven, citizen-centric approach to achieve sustainable development through emerging technologies.
I am also tasked to create, coordinate, and manage key technical international partnerships with global entities to develop standards, policies, and case studies, and mobilize resources to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Projects:
- Smart Dubai 2021 Strategy: Responsible for the design of the Smart Dubai 2021 Strategy which governs the digital transformation journey of Dubai, and Project Manager for the implementation paths specified by the strategy, including KPIs, baselines and targets.
- SDG11 Global Council: Member of the SDG11 Global Council tasked to seek innovative solutions for SDG11 implementation. The aim is to provide actionable insights, propose policies, develop technological solutions, and mobilize resources to drive progress towards the goal.
- Dubai Cashless Framework: Project Manager of the framework seeking to design the building blocks necessary for Dubai's transition to a leading cashless society. The framework explores the appropriate context for cashless in Dubai, foreseen payment experiences, technological gaps, necessary governance structure, and cultural habits integral to the process.
- Dubai Government Excellence Program: the Project Manager, assigned from Smart Dubai's side to develop and coordinate the KPIs of the Digital Transformation pillar of the program, and provide ad-hoc support to the government entities in implement the necessary measures to achieve the targets of the KPIs.
- Smart Dubai International Partnerships: Part of Smart Dubai’s task force responsible for establishing global partnerships to develop technical benchmarks, standards, and case studies, with the aim of localizing global best practices and sharing Dubai’s success stories in Digital Transformation.
- The Future of Work: Project Manager and Author of the Smart Dubai report exploring the extensive possibilities in the future of the employment landscape, and bringing forth considerations and recommendations to governments, private sector, and academia, on how to seize the best possible outcome of that future.
- City Strategy Section Management: Project Management Office Lead for the newly created City Strategy Section within the Smart Dubai Office.
As part of the centre’s mandate to foster and mobilize the movement towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals within the Arab League States, my role was to design and create training programs to be delivered across the relevant states. My role also included designing consultancy framework services to be provided by the centre.
The centre operates across and 21 countries, spanning over 300 cities in the region, and hence my duties were to design, create and conduct training courses that are specific to the region, and in certain occasions, tailor-made for the specific cities.
The delivered batch of training courses included the below specific topics (All training material were prepared in both English and Arabic Languages):
- The UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and Reporting Mechanisms
- Green Economy and Environmental Impact
- Climate Change and Low Carbon Cites - Sustainable Cities and Green Buildings - Sustainability Reporting
In this role, I was leading the team responsible of the business development of the advisory branch of the network, covering services such as Sustainability Report Development, Energy Mapping, Climate Change Impact Analysis, Social Return on Investment Analysis, Green-house Gas Accounting, Training's, Strategy Formulation, Monitoring and Verification, and SDG's Gap Analysis.
I was also the Project Manager responsible for the delivery of two of the company's largest annual platforms, namely, the Arabia CSR Forum and Arabia CSR Awards.
Key Projects:
- Arabia CSR Forum: Project Management of the Arabia CSR Forum day-to-day tasks from the mapping of the content, all the way to reaching out to different stakeholders and logistic providers.
- Arabia CSR Awards: Technical review of all Arabia CSR Awards submissions and returning recommendations and gaps reports.
- Business Development: successful submission of three government bids for Sustainability Reporting and Sustainability Reporting Assurance projects.

At Dubai Carbon, I worked within the team responsible of bridging the technical team and their deliverables, with the marketing teams to ensure the right contextual promotion of the companies expertise. I also managed two Service Level Agreements with sister companies, delivering annually planned sustainability promoting campaigns.
On the other hand, I was the Lead Developer and Project Manager for Sustainability Reporting services offered by the company. From business development to client management, all the way to product development and delivery.
Key Projects:
- Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing "Sustainable Tourism” Project | Task Leader: As task owner of the final deliverable, I prepared, consolidated and analyzed Big Data relating to electricity, water and waste consumption of over 450 hotels across Dubai. As the final output, I prepared a carbon footprint report, summarising the key findings and best solutions for the hospitality sector.
- ENOC Energy Efficiency Report | Project Manager: Responsible of the day-to- day project management, including daily deliverable reports, work packages completion, authorising weekly team plans, budget tracking, risk assessment and mitigation, and gap analysis
- UAE National Inventory System Team | Task Leader: In the context of the UAE National Communication to the UNFCCC, I was part of the team for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. My main tasks included gathering, consolidating, calculating, and analysing the country-wide carbon emissions. This big data exercise included the applying IPCC standard specific know-how to all of the energy, water, industrial and waste data within the country.
- Knowledge Products | Second Editor: As part of the UAE State of Energy, the UAE State of Green Economy and the State of Sustainability: UAE Task Forces, I coordinated and managed relationships with ministerial entities in regards to knowledge-sharing platforms and tender submissions.
- Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool | Author: Through the application of benchmarking and best practices, I have developed this tool to enable private sector entities to perform an initial assessment of their current sustainability standing. The tool is in line with the fundamental concepts of sustainability reporting.
- Dubai Municipality’s “A Sustainable Dubai” Report | Technical Editor: As the technical editor of the report, I was responsible for the technical review, fact checking, and technical flow of the report.

This unique and innovative Master's degree is the fi¬rst of its kind in the region and explores what cities are, and what they can be. It goes beyond the concept of a smart city to also cover important technological, social and sustainability issues to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to the cities of today and tomorrow.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering program combines the analysis and design of electrical and electronic circuits, mechanisms for automated control of processes, communication systems, signal processing and electrical power generation and delivery.
