1. Nitrogen Unit:
-APCI (550 m3/h gaseous - 90 Kg/h liquid each) start up/ shutdown and
troubleshooting of air product plant.
2. Air System:
-Operation of ATLAS COPCO air compressor oil free, screw type .
-Operation of emergency diesel compressor.
3. Water System:
-Startup of desal package MVC 216& troubleshooting.
-Operation of demineralization & potable units. Monitor process
chemicals consumption, inventories and reporting.
4. Effluent and Waste Water Treatment:
-I have worked in biological treatment package & oily treatment unit to
meet environmental specification before discharge to sea.
5. Power Generation System:
-Start up &Normal operation GAS TURBINE GENERATORS
HITACHI H25.
2 LNG PROCESS:
1. Plant feed conditioning:
-This area consists of 2 main parts; the metering station &the feed gas
compression. In the metering station there are quality & quantity
metering. The feed gas compressor is variable speed motor driven,
centrifugal type.
2. Mercury Removal:
- Any failure of this unit will result in mechanical failure ofdownstream
Plant & equipments made from aluminum because of amalgam
formation. The catalyst type is activated carbon impregnated with
sulfer . The treated gas will have a mercury level of less than 5ng/µ3.
3. Acid Gas Removal:
-This unit removes primarily carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and
also Other trace compounds such as carbonyl sulphides and
mercabtance.
-Reduction of CO2 & H2S is less than 50ppm& 3ppm respectively.
-The unit uses the activated MDEA process licensed from BASF.
-Routine work &trouble shooting I have acquired.
4. Dehydration:
- This unit is located downstream acid gas removal unit& upstream of
the liquefaction unit. It is designed to dry the gas to residual water
content of less than 0.5 ppm in order to prevent water from freezing
in the cryogenic section of liquefaction unit .
-The dehydration unit is based on a three beds molecular sieve
configuration with two beds in adsorption mode while the third bed
operates in regeneration mode.
5. Liquefaction:
-The liquefaction process occurs by the highest technology APCI
using main cryogenic heat exchanger(MCHE) spiral wound shell and
tube heat exchanger.
-troubleshooting &cool down and worming up of main cryogenic
heat exchanger activities I have learned and practiced as well.
-The liquefaction unit is closely coupled with refrigeration unit.
-The gas liquefaction process requires 2 separate refrigeration
loops, the mixed(MR) refrigerant loop and the propane
(PR) refrigerant loop to liquefy the natural gas stream.
-The MR loop includes the MR compressor, which is 3
stages, 3casing machine. The LPand MP stages are driven from
frame 7 gas turbine GE with output power 78.8 M WATT and
helper/starter motor(variable speed drive system) with output
power 17 M WATT. the HP stage is driven from propan
compressor gas turbine.
-The MR&PR compressors are NOUVA PIGNIONE & the largest
compressor in all over the world up till now.
- starting up, shut down, normal operation activities and
trouble shooting are another common practices I have acquired
for the MR and PR machines during start up and shutdown.
6. LNG Storage and Loading
- Holding and loading modes operation to keep continuous cool down
of loading rundowns.
-all boil off gases generated from storage tanks and vapor return from
ship is compressed by boil off gas compressor, cooled and routed to
feed gas compression unit.
-Start up, shut down of BOG IHI compressor, normal operation
and troubleshooting are another routine activities I have learned and
practiced.
