the plant contained a variety of machines, for instance: BUHLER floor mills, BUHLER animal feed plant, FAWEMA packing machines, ALTOPACK packing machine, WOLF packing machines, ISHIDA, automatic warehouse, material handling system, and Pasta processing lines.
MEROWE DAM is a 1250MW hydrogenation power plant owned by the Sudanese government and present the biggest power plant in Sudan .I hold the position of Control and instrumentation engineer within the maintenance department with the below responsibility:
instrument calibration and maintenance ( flow, level, pressure, temperature, wearing).
DCS troubleshooting and fault tracing ( alspa).
BOP equipment maintenance and troubleshooting (HP&LP compressors, Chillers, AHU).
hydraulic gates and hydraulic control systems.
hydraulic turbine governor (Alstom).
turbine monitoring and control system.
alternator monitoring and control system.
power transformer and GIS instrument and control system.
UPS and chargers system.
water treatment system ( portable water and wastewater treatment).
planning and scheduling PM, CM, CBM, PdM.
supervisor technician team through different maintenance activities.
I spend one year and handled the following systems. Basics of industrial power and automation systems. Basics of thermal generation (co-generation) control and instrumentation. Selection, Testing, Controls, and protection of Electric Motors. Switchgear assemblies, Power factor improvement, and Bus system. Allen Bradley PLCs (maintenance and troubleshoot) and DCS. Instruments installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and calibration. pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. compressor control system(CCS).
