Section : LPG treatment, PRU and MTBE
Roles & Key Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising and orienting the operation team for achieving the production and quality goals of the following units ( Controlled by HONEYWELL system in DCS )
1- LPG treatment unit ( licensed by UOP, capacity of 12000 BPD LPG = 80 m3/h) .In this unit the
following processes done in a successive stages
• H2S removal by amine treating
• Mercaptanes RSH removal by causting extraction and Merox
• LPG splitting C3 & C4 in splitting column
• Amine regeneration ( licensed by JGC-Japan )
• COS carbonyl sulfide removal by extraction with amine solution
2- Propylene recovery unit PRU ( Licensed by UOP, capacity of 5100 BPD = 35 M3/H). In this unit the following processes done in a successive stages
• Removing C2 from C3 stream in the DE-ETHANIZER
• Splitting propane/propylene in DE-PROPANIZER to produce polymer grade propylene
3- MTBE Unit ( Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, license by IFP - FRANCE )
With a Unit capacity of 28320 KG/H = 48 M3/H. In this unit the following processes done
• Converting the Iso-Butene in the C4 stream to MTBE ( Octane booster product ) by the catalytic reaction with Methanol ( in presence of cationic acidic ion exchange resin catalyst )
• C4 Raffinate washing section
• Methanol recovery section
Section : CFP clean fuel project 2020 - Refinery upgrade ( Sulfur Block )
Roles & Key Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising and orienting the operation and commissioning team for achieving the target of the following units ( controlled by FOXBORO system in DCS )
- Amine regeneration unit ARU with a capacity of 500 m3 / h ( Open Art Licensor )
- Sour water stripping unit SWSU with a capacity of 220 m3 / h
- SRU Sulfur recovery unit (Claus process) with a capacity of 400 T/ D ( SHELL licensor )
Hand of experience in operation and troubleshooting of the following
- Absorber and stripper towers - Steam and condensate systems
- Reaction furnace and incineration sys. - Catalytic reactors and quenchers
- Heat exchangers, fans and coolers - Pumps and compressors
- Chemical additives ( Anti-foam, Anti-corrosion, Acids and amines )
Utilized my experience in ASPEN HYSYS Simulation and AutoCAD P&ID for reviewing P&ID
and participating in plant development with the process engineering Department
Performed risk assessment, job Safety Analysis as it instructed from direct manager
Section : Sulfur Block ( SRU, TGTU, ARU, SWS )
Roles & Key Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising and orienting the operation team for achieving the production and quality goals of the following units ( SRU, TGT, ARU, SWS and acid gas flare
Hand of experience in operation and troubleshooting of the following
- Absorber and stripper towers - Steam and condensate systems
- Reaction furnace and incineration sys. - Catalytic reactors and quenchers
- Heat exchangers, fans and coolers - Pumps and compressors
- Chemical additives ( Anti-foam, Anti-corrosion, Acids and amines )
Executed & followed up the daily operation & maintenance activities done by MAXIMO sys.
Participated in Internal and External audit to achieve refinery profit and promote safety

Hand on experience in” DCS operation by both EMERSON & FOXBORO
Responsible for managing the operation & production of SRU Claus process, amine treatment and
Acid gas removal plant

4- Acid Gas Incineration
5- LP and HP gas multi-stages reciprocating compressors

Working as shift operation engineer, responsible for both technical and administration
tasks of ammonia plant, Licensed b Krupp Uhde which is fully controlled through ABB
system in DCS.
- Monitor production processes and activities to ensure they are compliant with the EHS
guidelines and production goals
- Liaising with support groups ( mechanical / electrical / engineering ) To ensure equipment
integrity and reliability.
- Reviewing P & ID and participating in plant development with the process engineering
department
