Health and Safety Engineer at Sonatrach Oil and Gas company - Operation Division - at Hassi Messaoud region.
The main mission of this company is the reception of crude oil from all the Saharan field (upstream) and processing, storing, trading, and transporting it to crude oil refineries (downstream).
Below are the main tasks and responsibilities that I managed to improve Health and Safety requirements:
- Participated in the implementation of HSE-MS in workplace and ensured that all companies and contractors complying with it.
- Participated in the implementation of the permit to work system in the operation division activity.
- Carried out HSE inspections tours in the various areas of the company.
- Prepared and provided reports of QHSE department on daily basis.
- Recommended the purchase of safety equipment, related supplies, and personal
protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with established company requirements.
- Ensured the continuous improvement of HSE conduct, knowledge, and awareness so that the HSE is always at high quality and priority.
- Promoted waste segregation awareness and prevention of environmental spills impacts.
- Ensured that risk assessments and JSAs are thoroughly prepared and holding well organized toolbox talk (TBT).
- Carried out, recorded, and registered accident/incident/near miss investigations and
ensured that corrective actions take place.
- Participated in the internal and external QHSE audits.
- Conducted HSE monthly campaigns to improve worker’s safety behavior.
- Conducted reviews of the approved suppliers and subcontractors list.
- Gave safety training and induction to the visitors, contractors and subcontractors.
- Carried out HSE inductions for new recruits, trainees, and staff from external companies.
- Ensured compliance with legal requirements.
Practical training at Naftal SPA - at Batna district.
The main mission of this company is the distribution, storage and marketing of fuels, LPG, lubricants, bitumen, and special products.
The theme of the practical training was about the emergency plans in case of accident/incident on the LPG storage area where I assisted an emergency drill to ensure their effectiveness.
Practical training at Sonatrach Oil and Gas company - Drilling Division - at Hassi Messaoud region.
The main mission of this company is the research, exploitation, pipeline transport, transformation and marketing of hydrocarbons and their derivatives.
The theme of the practical training was about the implementation of SMART program on one of the rig sites (Nabors Drilling International Limited, Rig N°283) in cooperation with the rig manager.
Practical training at Sonatrach Oil and Gas company - Production Division - at In Amenas district.
The main mission of this company is the research, development, exploitation, and production of hydrocarbons.
The theme of the practical training was about the development of Emergency Response Plans for credible scenarios where I assisted to an Incident Command System (ICS) as an observer and provided feedback.
Graduated from the British Safety Services (BSS UK) where I completed 11 elements (modules): why we should manage workplace health and safety; how health and safety management systems work and what they look like; managing risk - understanding people and process; health and safety monitoring and measuring; physical and psychological health; musculoskeletal health; chemical and biological health; general workplace issues; work equipment; fire; electricity.
Graduated from the Health and Safety Institute of Batna University where I've been completed successfully 71 modules related to Health and Safety Matters for six years of studying in university. My final project theme was about the techniques for repairing a pipeline in the event of a leak or burst.
Graduated from the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP) where I studied five months and have been completed several courses about health and safety with a successful degree.
Graduated from faculty of letters and languages of Batna University. This one-year course allowed me to develop the language and communication skills that I need for work and everyday life.
