As an POWER Systems Engineer i have remote technical support assistance to clients and IBM technical personnel on multiple products in the high volume through high availability product environments. I receive and record incident related information, and using a variety of tools, techniques and procedures, selects appropriate actions to resolve problems, and communicates the solution or action plan to the client or IBM service representative. I identify/recommend updates to knowledge based systems and maintenance packages. I also provide hardware or software technical support assistance to clients and IBM personnel in multi-vendor, multi-protocol networks/systems in the high availability product environment. I professional knowledge and problem determination/problem source identification skills to resolve problems involving hardware, microcode, operating system, application programs, and network issues.
- Attending POWER System (AIX, IBM, Linux) customer calls and resolve the issues in timely manner.
- Installation, Configuration and troubleshooting High Available, virtualization and other IBM Software (POWER HA, MIMIX, POWER VM, TSM Websphere)
- Attending mid-range and enterprise level Storage and Tape Library (V7k, IBM Flash, XIV, SVC, TS3200, DS4800) customer calls and resolve the issues in timely manner.
- Gathering preventive maintenance data and prepare reports accurately.
- Planing, managing and implement system installations and configuration.
Design Configuration for the IT infrastructure network and supervise its
implementation, Network Planning’s for new sites, Network drawings.
Identify business requirements and deliver cost-effective infrastructure solutions to
the organization.
Network traffic monitoring from PRTG Network Monitoring, wire shark for the
Network Optimizations to avoid expensive outages, Address bottlenecks before
they cause problems and troubleshoot the LAN issues such as wireless LAN issues
and network access droppings using wire shark.
Monitor systems and troubleshooting of, Cisco networks, Linux, Microsoft & VM
Severs, and send assessment reports from time to time to the seniors, firmware
upgrading.
Update the knowledge on recent developments in IT Infrastructure and apply it to
company's network as per the organization's needs
Configuring and maintaining the Network Monitoring Tools and platforms, Using
Opmanager to Infrastructure Network Monitoring for all devices for VMs Microsoft
Servers, ADs, DCs, Mail Exchange, VMs HPVs, Storages, Cisco switches, Routers
Wireless Access Points, WAN accelerator such as River Bed products and Cisco
Routers.
Revise and modify systems to ensure security within network environment using the
software’s like Websense, Password manager.
Experience with manage engines Opmanager, Device Expert, Service Desk and ITIL
standard working environment.
