Job title: Junior structural engineer (team leader and coordinator for number of projects).
Job description: I have been involved in various roles & responsibilities including production of structural models, design calculations, drawings & bill of quantities, coordination with other disciplines, reviewing, submission for approval, reviewing workshop drawings, reply on queries from contractor/third party, preparation of reports, proposals & presentations and leading a team.
I participated in the following projects:
• In U.A.E.:
A. Club Vista Mare - Dubai.
Commercial-residential Building, 2 floors, 4970 m2 each.
B. Dragon Mart Expansion - Dubai. (Estimated construction cost in $Million 260)
“MALL “Building: (2 floors as retail spaces and a roof for car parking -80, 000 m² each).
C. The Residential Avenue - Dubai.
Multi buildings (13 floors - 4000 m²) each.
Structural system varies between cast in-situ elements, pre-cast walls and pre-cast slabs.
D. DLC (Dubai Logistics City) - Office Park Buildings Phase 2 - Dubai.
Office building (6 floors - 40, 000m²).
Structured car park (5 floors - 19, 000 m²).
• In K.S.A.:
E. Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University- Riyadh.
2.8 million m² built-up area.
“Main Administration Building (Female) “: (5 floors - 23, 900 m² each).
“Administration Building for Men “: (3 floors - 4000 m² each).
In addition to workshop drawings’ review of above mentioned buildings.
F. Central Utility Complex and Tunnels for Makkah Haram - Makkah.
(Estimated construction cost in $Million 500)
This is an industrial project (site area of 75, 000 m²):
“Chiller Plant”: (8 floors - 12, 200 m² each).
“Haram Technology Training Center” (9 floors - 3100 m² each).
“Pedestrian Tunnels” and “Utility Tunnels”.
In addition to review of workshop drawings of above mentioned buildings.
G. Security Buildings in Shamiyah area - Makkah.
Building “Plot 1”: 3 towers over one podium:
The podium consists of 6 floors, 17100 m² each.
Each tower has 16 floors, 2380 m².
Structural system contains cast in-situ elements including transfer slabs.
H. Makkah First Ring Road and Bus stations- Makkah.
“Al-Marwah Station”: (7 floors - about 37, 300 m² each).
“Kudai Station”: (11 floors - variable from 66, 180 m² to 25, 700 m²).
The structural systems consist of cast in-situ R.C. elements, R.C. transfer slabs/ beams and pre-cast pre-tensioned slabs & beams.
• In other locations:
I. Hotel Horizonte - ANGOLA.
9-storey hotel building with 3 basement levels. Voided slab floor system.
J. Rehabilitation of Hydroelectric Plant and Heightening of Cambambe Dam - ANGOLA.
I participated in checking a spillway.
Part time Job.
I was responsible for calculations, drawings, reports preparation and reviewing
I worked in:
1- Design, fabrication drawings and construction of roof top towers (9, 12, 15, 18 m height), poles and tower grillage.
2- Design, erection drawings and fabrication drawings for free standing and cable stayed towers (as 50, 60, 70, 75, 100 m height).
3- Foundation design of towers.
I was responsible for calculations, drawings and BOQ preparation.
