Responsible for: category strategy, supplier selection, and negotiations across a variety of packaging categories.
Main Responsibilities
• Negotiates contracts on large volume bids. Obtains and analyzes suppliers quotations and awards business based on quality, service and lowest ultimate cost to the Company.
• Develops and maintain sources of supply based on reliability, financial responsibility, technical competence and adequate capacity.
• Owns material cost control and all costs associated with packaging materials.
• Stays informed of economic and business conditions in the industry as they impact supplies and costs.
• Reports important developments/events to the Sr. Purchasing Manager of Corporate Purchasing.
• Responsible for working with suppliers to ensure consistent supply.
• Works with R&D to identify cost-effective alternate materials/technologies
• Identifies, leads, and monitors cost savings projects.
• Serves as point of escalation for the supply chain on material quality and delivery issues
Plan, organize and supervise the comprehensive purchasing functions for the company in compliance with mandated requirements; overseeing daily activities regarding processes or bid status negotiating terms and conditions with vendors and/or service providers; and achieving department objectives and goals within budget, participate with other departments in order to achieve company's vision & goals.
Main Responsibilities
• Managing and controlling Company’s suppliers.
• Ensure that all materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
• Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs.
• Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
• Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Sales, Marketing and Production, R&D...
• Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spends.
• Supplier visits both in Egypt and abroad if needed.
• To carry out a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements.
Assuring availability of local and imported, Raw & Packing material in the terms of the right quantity on time with the best quality by the practical use of the different (Incoterms) according to the company’s policy and production with different payment terms & procedures using my organized negotiation experience and interpersonal skills.
Achievements:
• Accomplished supplier performance criteria in order to be qualified and evaluated to compare their activities to the company procedures. (Assumed the preparation for Suppliers Performance Criterions - Foreign Purchasing Cycle which helped Enjoy to obtain ISO and HACCP certificates).
• Contributed in rearranging the flow of business within the department as a team player by implementing new creative ideas for a better managing of day-to-day assignments, and creating new regular analytical reports to consummate inordinate time available.
• Prepared the annual budgeting and strategic plan for my account.
• Experienced a wide variety of production plans through the close monitoring of different production areas and products.
• Achieved a following-up procedure for the customs clearance agent to minimize the time consumed in cleaning shipments by proper documents preparation for every shipment according to the understanding of the customs rules and regulation.
• Located new international / local suppliers with better quality, price, timing, payment terms and conditions.
• Experienced the different banking payment terms of the imported goods by working closely with both the banking and finance departments.
