SAUDI & OPEC FUNDED BADULLA CHENKALADI ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Funded by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the Badulla-Chenkaladi Road Improvement Project (BCRIP) was initiated to improve connectivity between the Eastern Province, Uva Province, and Central Province. The project set out to rehabilitate 151 km included construction of 287 culverts and 41 bridges, and installation of road furniture including Street Lights and other incidental work. The total cost of the project is $140 million.
Duty and Responsibilities
• Involve tendering process, response to tender clarification on commercial matters, tender evaluation and prepare tender report
• Preparation of cost estimate and cost plan based on external data and prepare the tender BOQ and Engineering estimate
• Evaluation of Contractor’s Monthly interim application & Statement at completion and prepare the payment recommendation to the Employer
• Checking Contractor’s cost proposals for variations and preparing VO for Employer approval
• Manage the procurement process for Provisional sum works by evaluating pre-qualifications, comparison statements, analysis and prepare the evaluation report
• Evaluation of Contractor’s claims and prepare claim assessment report
• Preparation of monthly report including payment details, anticipated final cost (AFC), cost to complete, anticipated variation, provisional sum details & potential savings
• Assessment of rate analysis, negotiation with the Contractor and Recommend to the Employer for new rates submitted by the Contractor
• Preparation of cash flow forecast to ensure the Employer financial commitments
• Evaluation of cost in value engineering proposals
Zonal Framework Contract for Road Maintenance Qatar
Rehabilitation and construction of existing damaged Road approximately 16.3 km including 3.5 km street lighting network and Refurbishments, Reinstatement and Repair Works for Strategic Location throughout Qatar - Construction of new road in various locations, Street lighting works, Resurfacing works in Highways and Reinstatement of existing damaged road
Duty and Responsibilities
• Prepare Client monthly Interim Payment Application with respect to the work progress
• Preparing Variations and Identifying claims based on changes, provide quantities and cost estimates.
• Assists in the review of Client drawings and shop drawings
• Preparing comparison statement and evaluating, negotiating the terms for subcontracting
• Checking and evaluating the subcontractor’s work based on Contract and preparing Payment Certificates
• Checking and evaluating the subcontractor’s variation claims
• Work with Project Director/ Project Manager for budget estimate, manpower planning, sub-contractors payments, and daily and monthly manpower reports
• Prepare and submit cost report, Cash flow forecast, potential variations, cost estimates as per Employer/Client Requirements
• Maintaining/periodically updating the project cost to complete according to the available details, notifying any savings/overrun/missing items in the contract
Accommodation Project for Signal Corps at Rayyan
The objective of the project is to design and build works for the accommodation project at Al Rayyan with the inclusion of boundary walls, new Road Network including demolition of existing road and traffic signs, infrastructures, external services and works and furniture, office furniture and gym equipment
Duty and Responsibilities
• Prepare Variations Claim on timely manner with marked-up drawings with necessary correspondences.
• Assessing and preparing payment certificates for all subcontractors’ progress claims & setting final accounts
• Prepare and control project costs and define project needs for cost control in accordance with contractual requirements
• Measure actual quantities based on the tender drawings
• Dealing with sub-contractor procurements, payments & disputes
• Define the sub-contractor scope, send inquiries, clarify the tender queries, compare quotations and finalize the rates
• Prepare the project's risk management plan, including identifying and assessing cost-related risks
• Attending site & commercial meetings with Clients for Variation-evaluations, claims
• Responsible for preparing prolongation Claims and Final Account for the project.
IMPROVEMENTS & REHABILITATION ON ROAD, DRAINAGE & CULVERT CONSTRUCTION
The Project was to improve mobility of Sri Lanka’s National Highway Network through the rehabilitation and improvement of the road from Batticaloa District. The scope consists of drainage, culvert and Bridge construction, including Road Construction and, Retaining Structures Pedestrian foot walk and Road Furniture.
Duty and Responsibilities
• Analysis and interpretation of specification, drawings and BOQ.
• Coordinates with project manager and Technical Officers for implementation of project schedule, revision and accomplishment.
• Inspecting and close supervision of work in progress to ensure conformity with specification and quality requirement and proving technical advice to resolve the problem
• Issue site instruction to contractors and checking contractor drawing before sending approval.
• Leading and manage site activities by giving instruction to subordinate staffs
• Checking of monthly interim valuations & Certification of Contractor’s payments.
• Inspect project site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications.
• Preparing Rate breakdown/rate analysis for additional work
• Check the safety procedure of the contractors especially with regards of public
RE-CONSTRUCTION OF TWO STORIED SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT IN KITHUL -EASTERN PROVINCE
Reconstruction of two storied school building project funded by UNICEF at Kithul, Eastern province. It was constructed by the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau under the Engineering consultants (Pvt) Ltd, Consultant, Project cost is 16 million.
Duty and Responsibilities
• Study the tender Documents, Drawings and specifications and sending clarification if any to Client.
• Prepare monthly and weekly progress reports with cash flow, resource histogram and physical progress curve (S - curve), Review and supervise all daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Issue Master Schedule base line for project, Updating schedule baseline and attend to the progress meeting with client and contractor.
• Inspect project site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety and Maintaining Daily progress report
• Taking joint measurement with contractor for checking valuations
• Preparing Rate breakdown/rate analysis for additional work
• Ensure and maintain the matters regarding quality of works as per specifications / standards and approved drawings due to fully responsible for Quality of work and assurance.
• Check and approve the Interim Payment Certificate submitted by contractors with actual measurements.
