Electrical Design Engineer at AWS
• The Electrical Engineer working on the Hyperscale Data Centers is responsible for the Conceptual design development, detailed design and coordination with contractor until the project delivery
• Competent in producing all electrical system calculations, design of electrical systems and selection of major electrical equipment's such as MV Systems, Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers, Earthing and Fire Detection/Suppression systems
• Reviewing design and shop drawings, responding to queries & RFI’s
• Preparing and reviewing the load flow, Discrimination, Arc flash and harmonic studies.
• Coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver the capacity
• Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems
Worked in Data center and Financial sector projects
•Preparing the Electrical design for commercial, residential, Industrial & Data center projects i.e., Lighting, Power Layout design, Single line diagram, substation design with Voltage drop, Protective device index
•Selecting & Sizing electrical equipment such as Main Distribution Panel, Sub-Main Distribution Panel, Distribution Panel and Power Distribution Units(PDU)
•Designing the Paralleling in switch gears, multi-source incoming in Distribution panels, redundant UPS and Battery systems as per the Tier arrangement
•Selecting & Sizing electrical equipment such as HV feeder, RMU arrangements, transformer, Standby generator, Diesel tank calculation, capacitor banks etc.,
•Collaborate with the client/suppliers for the rack/cabinet arrangement and Incorporating the HVAC load
•Preparing the Low Current system i.e., Emergency lighting, fire alarm design, telecommunication drawings, Voice evacuation, CCTV Access control and specification etc.,
•Overseeing cable selection / design & protective equipment selection
•Meeting with the authorities for preparing electrical design and updating as per their requirement
•Coordinating with client, contractors& Authorities and maintaining the correspondence with them for shop drawings & specification approval and resolving site queries to meet execution requirements; understanding the technical & functional specifications
•Dealing directly with client for technical queries & giving best possible solution and Coordinating with project execution team and contractors
•Conducting regular site surveys, inspection and tests to ensure the installation must comply with design specification, design drawings and as per the applicable standards
•Coordinate and prepare various documents such as test, inspection reports, excavation permits, safety approval prior to implementation of work
•Conducting the various tests
•Reviewing the final handover materials i.e., Material catalogs& as built drawings etc.,
Preparation of Electrical shop drawings, report & technical specifications of material
• Anchoring on-site erection & commissioning activities and ensuring completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilization to maximize the output
• Conducting regular site surveys and inspection and tests to ensure the performance capacity of various machines and equipment to ensure smooth operations
• Dealing directly with client for technical queries & giving best possible solution and Coordinating with project execution team and Sub contractors
• Preparation of progress reports in coordination with the supervision.
• Preparation and review of monthly and weekly work plans and procedures, follow-up on them, management of project documents.
• Executing the projects by scheduling, monitoring, installation and commissioning
