• Set objectives, provide direction and support the operations team to deliver high performance in terms of service, quality, cost, safety, inventory accuracy and productivity
• Develop an operating strategy for the Distribution Centre and implement ISO procedures
• Heavily involved in supply chain & logistics to ensure smooth maximum efficiency
• Ensure good manufacturing practices such as FIFO/5S while incorporating programs for continuous productivity improvements
• Practice all environment, health and safety procedures and drive safety initiatives
• Comply with legal, legislate and corporate safety requirements
• Ensure good inventory health by coordinating cycle count and stock take
• Improve and implement SOPs to optimize operation processes
• Work with cross functional teams across different territories and time zones to deliver high performance
• Work with HR to build a positive employee relations while providing development opportunities for staff where needed to attract, retain or develop high potential talent
• Visit major clients with Sales Manager to understand customer requirements and problems in order to build rapport with the customers
• Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated timely to the Leadership Team
• Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values
• Develop, analyze and manage operational expenses for the DC while performing general management duties e.g. performance appraisals, promotions, terminations etc
