English Language Professor
Avicenne Private Business School
Total years of experience :14 years, 10 Months
Being the only professor of English I also fill the position of head of the department of English. I came up with the whole curriculum and I have chosen the books we use (Market Leader + New Headway). I also introduced a computer based program of teaching English "Rosetta Stone" which I use with my students who need more attention.
I teach professionals and I also recruited trainers of English since we have many professionals who have a language training at Avicenne Private Business School.
I translate all types of documents (Judicial, technical, Administrative, websites...) and I teach English, French, German for non natives and I teach Arabic as a foreign language.
My job is to make contact with sellers of properties, visit them, take pictures and evaluate the property based on the Estate Market. I manage the website and Facebook page of the company by posting new listings and answering e-mails and faxes.
I also manage the publicity of the properties both electronically (via our website or other announcements websites) and on newspapers and journals.
I teach English for undergraduates and professionals who come to Mediterranean School of Business in order to have a training in English.
As part of my duties as EFL, I give presentations to undergraduates on how to live on campus in the USA.
I also help the students think about extra curricular activities. For instance, during the last Spring break, we organized a trip to the USA to visit the three universities that are MSB's partners. I palyed the role of the coordinator and helped book plane tickets and hotels, but the idea came from the students themselves.
I was assigned by the US Department of State as a FULBRIGHT FLTA at Reed College to start the new program of Arabic language teaching. I played the role of a teacher and cultural ambassador of my Tunisian culture since I had to live with the students on-campus where I shared my culture.
I used to organize extra curricular activities, such as movie nights, visits to places that have Muslim or Arab backgrounds and at the end of the year I organized a big party on the Muslim/Arab theme to encourage Reed College's students to take Arabic next year.
