 To inspect the applicable painting and coating system with qualified abrasive blasters and applicators with client approval.

 Review Method statement, Inspection Test Plan and Procedure for pipeline field joint coating. All external field joints coated with fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) which offers a great mechanical abrasion resistance and compatible with existing coating and anti-corrosive protection of field joints.

 To execute specific inspection on materials and equipments.
 Process verification and checking all parameter of quality control measure such as Holiday detection, Adhesion test, Cathodic disbonding, Interface contamination and Impact resistance and other requirements as per ITP carried out as a part of quality inspector.

 To supervise, evaluate and implement procedure, specification and ITP applicable for painting and coating system.

 Broadly speaking the inspection duties are divided into three sections as mentioned below:
First objective is to ensure that the equipments to be used is in working orders and calibrated.
Site operation: Prior to blast cleaning operation checking all parameters such as weld spatters, sharp corners and edges round off and welding clearance from concerned authorities by qa/qc department.

After blast cleaning make regular examination of blast cleaned joints and blasted pipe and surface to assess whether the standard of cleaning as specified in method statement is being achieved before application of coating and painting activities and verify climatic condition is within the limit.

Documentation; to ensure work acknowledgement reports, progress report on daily basis, quality of works and suggestion and recommendation on the basis of site problems.

 Inspect and supervise to ensure specified requirement to determine conformity of the job specification such as Data sheet for coating materials, procedure of coating, quality plan, plant Drawing, site plan, Material used, abrasive type, degree of cleanliness, profile achieved, product reference number, expiry date, Batch number, colour reference number, Ambient condition and record of all stage of the work being carried out

 Prepare daily report sheet, preparation of weekly summery reports and report on any irregularities, on-conformance or deviation from specification and short out technical issues

 Conducting testing of surface profile, WFT, DFT, holiday detection, adhesion test of various storage tanks, piping and spools.

 Review of inspection test plan(ITP), Inspection reports, Quality control procedure, Method statement, verify testing instrument calibration and relevant work permit prior to commencement of work

 Fully conversant with applicable code and standards and able to demonstrate working knowledge of codes required by the scope of the project such as ASME 31.3/31.8, SSPC and general requirement of good painting practices

 Witnessing and monitoring on going activities of abrasive blasting (surface cleanliness) amplitude of profile, paint application,

 Inspection of Batch certificate of abrasive material, chloride level and sieve analysis report.





 Identifying the Benefits/Disadvantages of Paint Systems.
