Project Manager for GIZ funded project to protect dams in Jordan by reducing soil erosion and sediments deposit. The project aims mainly to install solar irrigation system for approximately 15, 000 trees which are planted through cash for work opportunities.
• Ensure effective communication and networking are developed and maintained with partners and other actors in the camp.
• Identify needs and contribute to projects elaboration through gathering and analyzing the data and information of the humanitarian, emergency and development needs on the area of intervention and feed the future program designing, including maintaining gender and equity focus and disaggregation for WASH data.
• Contribute to the quality, accountability and impact measurement process of programs.
• Apply social behavior change principles and social accountability on all project components.
• Participate in the coordination, representation and partnerships of Action Against Hunger in the area of intervention.
• Acting as the organization’s main safety and security focal point in Azraq Camp, liaising closely with the Access and Liaison Manager in case of any security alerts or incidents.
• Contribute to deliberations on strategy and the positioning of the organization.
• Managing the WASH & Shelter programming in North West Syria remotely from Amman.
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality WASH & Shelter (including infrastructural) interventions in Northwest Syria and developing strategies for the continuation of water supply, water networks maintenance, hygiene promotion and support to the emergency and recovery shelter.
• Promote the development of a holistic strategy through creating linkages with other sectors’ strategies (NFI, Food Security and Livelihoods).
• Contribute to the development of a sectorial strategy based on a strong contextual understanding of North East Syria and in line with Mercy Corps values. Ensure inclusion of national technical staff and other key stakeholders into the strategy process
• Contribute to the design of new proposals based on sectoral and general knowledge if required.
• Ensure provision of program quality in all aspects of design, planning, and implementation of WASH and shelter infrastructure interventions.
• Directly responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities and project outcomes in line with project requirements and specifications.
• Monitoring the project budget, timeline and quality of deliverables.
• Following up on all technical documents and activities.
• Liaise and coordinate all the project activities with the EU-MADAD Consortia partners, local authorities and the beneficiaries engaged in the project
• Manage the projects budget, in close collaboration with the Finance Manager, Jordan Head of Mission, and Jordan/Lebanon WASH Coordinator.
Generate work plans to manage and implement delegated projects activities and tasks in line with the comprehensive execution plan, MoUs, WASH standards and requirements to ensure high technical quality.
•Monitors the progress of the activities on sites which assigned to the WASH Senior Engineer and the WASH technical team; and ensures they are implemented conform planning and quality standards.
•Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities, communities and other key stakeholders.
•Directly responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities in line with project requirements and specifications (Including using computer aided design software’s, MS project or any similar software
•Track the progress of activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators and provide on-time status reports.
•Prepare all necessary documentation for tendering processes, analyse bids received and prepare the documentation for finalizing the tender.
•Prepare comprehensive contract documents for Contractors and ensure that the Contractor well understands these documents.
•Representing LWF in WASH sector group hosted by (UNICEF) and School Infrastructure Donor Group hosted by (USAID).
•Designing, developing and testing greywater re-use systems & rain water harvesting.
•Developing school assessment tools, data analysis and data management tools.
•Supervision on all mechanical and electrical works for the construction.
•Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.
•Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs.
•Considering the implications of issues such as cost.
•Coordinates with requesting department and other trades for completing projects/work orders efficiently.
•Designing and implementing cost-effective Air Conditioning Systems such as split Units or VRF system, heating systems by under floor heating and radiators.
•Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors and customers.
•Designing Solar Systems, including load calculations, cells distribution and feasibility study.
•Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modelling and computer-aided design.
•Making quotation for sanitary, heating and air conditioning systems.
