Responsibilities/Accomplishments: • Responsible for the sale of General Merchandise products to a customer base spanning 4 countries (Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria), with total turnover exceeding USD 17million yearly with 30% increase than the last year.
• Knowledge of a wide range of General Merchandise products including, Pulp and Paper, Wood, Steel, Cotton linter and Tires.
• Conduct extensive research to understand the customer base and how to best market ITOCHU products.
• Reach to the end users, to increase product knowledge allowing us to know how to sell directly to customers instead of traders of raw materials.
• Actively search for new suppliers to meet customer's needs/requests (woodfree paper, coated paper, etc.)
• Manage customer and supplier relationships and ensure payment, shipment and arrival of customer orders.
• Negotiate with both suppliers and customers to close deals.
• Introduce new products into the marketplace: o Currently establishing wood business by importing MDF wood from Indonesia and Vietnam to our region.
o Partnering with Marubeni Itochu Steel Inc. - Abu Dhabi, currently promoting Tin Plate, and other steel products (CRC and HRC) in the market
o Actively selling Fluff Pulp and Eucalyptus pulp for diapers and tissue paper to Hygienic Paper companies.
• Establish and enhance partnerships with other global ITOCHU offices to expand available suppliers and products to our market. (Asia, Europe, North America)
• Visit supplier facilities to learn more about products and ensure quality for customers.
