Business Tax Consultancy
• Actively involved in advising clients on tax/legal and zakat implications in Saudi Arabia including tax issues arising on offshore transactions; Advising tax efficient business set-up/structures to new companies; Advising various multinational clients on the preparation of tax returns and providing corporate tax advisory services to clients
• Review of proposed business structures, transactions and agreements from the Saudi Arabian tax perspective
• Preparing due diligence reports for various clients
• Identifying the possible exposures to tax in Saudi and recommending ways to modify and/or restructure agreements so that the resulting tax incidence is minimized
• Preparing the Income tax and withholding tax returns of various clients.
• Advising client to save tax by analyzing the tax treaties
• Conducting review of contracts, identifying withholding/corporate tax exposures and advising clients on mitigating factors including vetting from tax perspective

Finance and Accounting
• Liaising with audit colleagues to consider the accounting treatment of various business transactions, and assessing the Saudi Arabian tax implications arising from such treatments.
• Recommending possible alternative accounting treatment where tax exposures are identified
Auditing and Certification
• Planning the audit work using the risk methods
• Auditing the books of accounts of various clients for certification
• Reviewing various revenue and expense contracts
• Preparing a financial analysis report/analytical review sheet

Performing various tasks during my association with the firm, including:
- Overall engagement management - i.e. undertaking QRM and client acceptance procedures including liaising with other EY offices in various jurisdictions to obtain necessary clearance and acceptance.
- Advisory services to various clients on Saudi Arabian tax/zakat matters.
- Advising clients on setting up a legal entity and ad-hoc accounting advises in liaison with assurance department.
- Undertaking tax due-diligence assignments.
- Preparation and review of tax and zakat declarations of various clients.
- Review and supervision of attestation work.
- Assisting the clients during field audit by the Department of Zakat and Income Tax.
- Preparation of proposals for various PNBs and responding to RFPs.
