Advansys ESC provides engineering services for different clients such as Dematic, which is a global provider of a comprehensive range of intelligent intralogistics and materials handling solutions.
Since I joined Advansys I worked with Dematic and participated in different projects, specifically related to European offices (Italy, Spain, Germany and UK).
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Support Dematic R&D center:
- Coordinating the workload for R&D tasks.
- Participate in building the library of R&D-Italy by building 3D models of their different products.
- Participate in creating Parts Manuals for Dematic Products by creating 3D Exploded Views and accurate Parts List.
- Train and follow up with new engineers.
- Tool used: Siemens NX and Inventor.
- Design custom made parts and prepare their manufacturing drawings, mainly sheet metal parts.
- Prepare supports and hangers layouts for conveying systems.
- Create and modify mechanical systems drawings.
- Prepare installation drawings.
- Generate accurate BOM according to specifications.
- Provide technical support for new engineers.
- Decreased the working hours for a task by converting some ordinary blocks to be dynamic in AutoCAD.
- Work with Advansys Innovation team and contribute in Augmented Reality project by preparing 3D models using SolidWorks.
Worked for the Research and Development sector of the world's largest crystal producer as an intern mechanical design engineer. The R&D sector was meant to develop the machines to be fully automated, and build new machines starting from conceptual design, mechanical design to manufacturing and testing.
Worked for Mechanical Design office, but with different teams such as Mechatronics and Control.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attending Innovation Sessions with other teams to creatively solve problems and come up with ideas for new projects, developments and improvements.
- Design mechanical components and select standard parts all per applied loads.
- Create CAD models for individual parts, their assemblies, machines and layouts of production lines.
- Worked with Mechatronics team to build models for control panels and actuators.
- Meeting with manufacturing team for design optimization, design for machinability.
- Search for suppliers for mechanical parts, standard parts, etc.
- Meeting with professors and consultants to discuss complex technical problems.
- Worked in Reverse-Engineering projects.
- Participated in writing two of Asfour's machines' manuals by preparing Exploded Views for the 2 machines according to their assembly level.
- Worked with Configuration-Management team to deliver some documents such as Parts List, Breakdown Structure and Assembly Sequence.
- Was asked to train colleagues for new skills and tools in Unigraphics/Siemens NX.
Postgraduate diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, Information Technology Institute (ITI), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt. Sep., 2013 to June 2014. A scholarship provided by Egyptian Government by Ministry of Communication. The subjects/hours studied in ITI are accredited by Paderborn University in Germany.
