Hold responsibility for managing and controlling performance, cost and capacity of external fulfillment logistics provider (3PL). Spearhead major projects within the MENA Operations Fulfillment / Supply Chain / Transportation to support business and selection growth. • Worked in the leading ride hailing company dealing with performance management of 60, 000+ captains across 24+ cities in KSA as well as customer experience management covering 5 million trips per month.
• Implemented process for matching demand and supply which maximized the billable availability of captains and customer throughput along with enhanced user experience.
• Consolidated city teams in the western region in to one central team and reduced headcount by 25% in the operations performance function
Highlights:
• Managed the logistics scope of the first large-scale product recall in Saudi Arabia as part of a Mars global recall. Established required processes and SOPs and coordinated with external stakeholders for successful collection, consolidation and destruction of 80, 000 cases of recalled SKUs with zero discrepancies.
• Led warehouse transformation through continuous improvement projects including introduction of batch traceability system in warehouses and revamp of ERP of the distributor - Al Naghi Group facilitating enhanced quality control of Mars products.
• Implemented action plans for establishing operational excellence in terms of inbound and outbound KPIs and system reports in 6 warehouses across KSA. This reduced disposal of near expiry lots by 20%
• Conducted value stream mapping workshop to identify opportunities for implementing lean operations across land transportations, clearances at seaports and warehouse handling of trucks/containers. Developed and signed off improved processes and agreed SLAs which reduced average shipment offloading time from 3 days to 1 day, detention time of trucks/containers from 1.5 days to 0.2 days and reduced monthly value of shortages/damages from USD 80, 000 to USD 45, 000.
• Reduced average TAT for Egypt shipments by 30% through rerouting of shipments.
• Reduced product damage by 60% by implementing shipment tracking sheet and process for monthly product evaluation across warehouses.
Responsibilities as Warehouse Operations Champion:
• Managed land inbound logistics for Mars in Saudi Arabia accounting for 50% of all KSA inbound traffic.
• Supervised operations ensuring achievement of KPI targets related to total turnaround time (TAT), age on arrival (AOA) and age upon despatch (AUD) to trade.
• Dealt with clearance of all land shipments including control and minimization of detentions, shortages and damages.
• Managed the Order to Cash cycle of all KSA shipments ensuring on time in full deliveries and collection of payments from trade.
• Supervised 3PL operations for the Mars supply chain and led route optimization for land shipments.
• Coordinated and managed all activities related to logistics for introduction of new SKUs in the market in collaboration with demand teams.
• Managed the process of identification and disposal of near expiry lots of SKUs in the warehouse.
• Served as the single point of contact (SPOC) with external auditors for the Mars supply chain in KSA, coordinating all audits and ensuring execution of corrective actions on all quality and safety observations of external auditors.
• Managed all finance audit requirements for Mars supply chain including provision of required documents and information to auditors.
• Coordinated all aspects of insurance management for supply chain and logistics of Mars products.
• Supervised and controlled 3PL providers, transporters and clearance agencies dealing with transportation, clearance and warehousing of average 200 trucks per month.
• Coordinated all land inbound processes ensuring control of detentions, shortages and damages as well as achievement TAT, AOA and AUD targets and compliance with the FEFO process.
• Managed order to cash process of Mars products across KSA with annual invoicing of USD 420 million covering purchase order management, customer complaint management, product availability for sales management and product insurance management.
• Worked as materials and logistics planner for the Pampers and Always range of hygiene brands with 200 SKUs of finished products.
• Managed planning and inventory control for 60 SKUs of raw ad and packing materials with average inventory holding of USD 6, 000, 000.
• Contributed to 100% case fill rate (CFR) and ensured on time availability of raw materials for new product initiatives.
• Supervised and coordinated imports of 330 containers from international suppliers as well as 150 local land shipments per month.
• Managed relationships with 20 suppliers (15 international and 5 local) including establishment and updating of SLEAs.
• Monitored movements of all trucks and containers controlling detentions within approved limits.
• Established the network infrastructure including installation of routers, switches and cabling, PCs, network point devices across 23 branches inside and outside Jeddah
• Fully owned and managed the project for establishing network infrastructure for the new branch of the company comprising of 200+ network points, routers, cabling, PCs & servers and software on 2 floors.
• As project manager built a new call center system for the company managing all phases from determination of business requirements through working with the service provider for installation of new system software & infrastructure, testing, validation and rollout to training of end users (call center agents).
