All matters associated with road lighting; sign lighting; traffic control systems; MV; HV; EHV; and, other electrical or related technology Also responsible for establishing contacts with appropriate departments for the supply or transfer of lighting components or accessories, arrangement for power supplies (i.e. connection or shutdown of service) approvals and acceptance of materials, supervise testing procedures off-site and prior to installation and on completed systems.
Additional responsibilities include: establishing contact with other relevant Ministries and Authorities, about Traffic Control Systems, Communication Systems and other electrical or electronic Works; and, ensure that drawings and specifications reflect current design standards.
Performing testing and commissioning for installed 33/11 KV & 11/0.45 KV
Substations, Cables and RMUs.
Root cause Analysis for breakdown, trips and faults in power distribution
network equipments.
Supervising 11 KV Cable Installation, from excavation to cables laying,
backfilling and reinstatement work, Cable Jointing & Terminations.
Review project scope and material specifications and Protection for
Transformers, Cables, OHL, RMUs.
Corrective Maintenance for Distribution Substations, Cables, and OHL
Ensuring that all electrical site activities are conducted under controlled
conditions as per Schemes drawings, Method Statements, Work Plan, and
ADDC standards for electrical works and specifications.
•Conducted site surveys, installation supervision, cables routes inspection according to projects schemes coordination and maps locations.
•Estimated materials, labors for daily site work, construction cost for budget preparation and final invoices calculation.
•Supervision of cables installation from excavation to cables laying, back-filling and reinstatement works, Cable Joints & Terminations.
•Transformers Installation, UPS, MV cables, Fire alarm systems, MDP, Cables Installation, Wiring, Diesel Generators Set and ATS.
•Ensure that all electrical site activities are conducted under controlled conditions as per schemes drawings, method statements, work plan, following AADC, ADEWA standards for electrical works and specifications.
•Attend coordination meetings with clients and consultants and other contractors.
Project: Site Visit, Study and Corrective Implementations for Operation and Maintenance Improvements for Merowe Dam Power Plant.
Northern state, Sudan
Responsibilities:
•Conducted field surveys, study and monitored Power Generation Units, HV/MV/LV Substation and Field Power Supply Systems.
•Analyzed up normal conditions and faults raised by COSWIN CMMS.
•Performed faults diagnosing and troubleshooting for faulty equipment and breakdowns in Generation Units as Power Service Engineer.
•Supervised Power plant normalization for instrumentation, control systems, switchgear, UPS systems and relays in emergency cases and blackouts, using Standby DG Sets.
•Prepared status reports and raised them to the Head of Operations Control Center for review and maintenance plans preparation by planning division.
Project: Block 6 Power Generation and Distribution Networks Study and 33 kV OHTL Protection Study
(Part 1: Protection Coordination Settings). Balila West Kordofan, Sudan
Responsibilities:
•Designed, maintained and implemented electrical instruments to extract data from field recorders, protection relays, and equipment monitoring devices to improve components performance by using computer-assisted engineering software (ETAP).
•Root cause Analysis for breakdown, trips and generators failure in Thermal Power Plant (ROLLS-ROYCE and Wärtsilä) and Distribution Network.
•Reviewed protection settings for Power Generation Units, 33/11 kV Transformers, OHTL and Distribution Substations and generate Relay Setting Documents.
•Handled Analysis for Production Impact Assessment before applying a complete Settings Upgrade for Protective Devices in Distribution Network substations using ETAP Software.
•Contributed with relevant sections in the analysis and status evaluation of power system components in Generation Plant, Power Distribution Network and Oil Pump Stations by using measurements and data extracted from Protection Relays.
•Performed root cause analysis and made recommendations to address local and system-wide implications under emergencies.
•Prepared engineering documents such as Blackouts and Breakdowns Justification, Power Plant & Network Status Reports, and Performance Enhancements Recommendations.
Project: Outage, Partial and Total Shutdown for Power Generation Plant Cause Analysis and Investigations.
Balila West Kordofan, Sudan
Responsibilities:
•Prepared detailed reports and justifications for regular power outage and shutdown in power generation plant due to Lighting Strikes Flashback.
•Participated in the case study which was undertaken to ascertain the tower footing resistance of 33 kV line.
•Conducted earthing configuration review to utilize and reduce the footing resistance to lower values.
•Inspection and review for installed Surge Arresters at Power Plant Side to prevent back flash-overs from striking generation source under lightning conditions..
•Identification of material required, tools and equipment for earthing wires and insulators installation.
•Provided technical support during testing and commissioning earthing system.
•Results obtained are presented and discussed with O&M teams.
•Enhancements recommendations for long term stability and Power Generation security were provided.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering program combines the analysis and design of electrical and electronic circuits, mechanisms for automated control of processes, communication systems, signal processing and electrical power generation and delivery.
