Joined Motorola Solutions for a one year internship program. I worked with several departments taking different roles. Some of the major objectives for these roles are as follows:
1. Get an understanding of Motorola’s best practices on performing the coverage analysis for the
customers using Motorola’s proprietary coverage analysis tool in accordance to a coverage
acceptance test plan that has been agreed with the customer.
2. Learn the technical details on how to perform noise figure calculations, link budget, reliability
calculations based on customers’ requirements for the required audio quality for different radio
systems. In addition, to get an understanding on how external noise affect receiver sensitivity
and hence reduce the coverage area
3. Acquired hands-on experience on staging Motorola’s systems. This included configuration of
switches, routers, base radios, RF combiner tuning, and upgrading/downgrading software
releases.
4. Acquired basic knowledge on the various system components for the mobile radio systems
5. Involved with RFI troubleshooting, Coverage enhancement, finalizing acceptance test for a simulcast enhancement project.
