- Configure and install varied network devices and services (such as routers, firewalls, switches, VPN, Domain Controllers, DNS servers, File servers etc.)
- Perform troubleshooting to identify, resolve, and provide root cause analysis of network related issues.
- Perform system and network analysis by using well defined tool sets for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response packet capture, application performance management, syslog, netflow etc.
- Management of the daily data backup and retrieval scheme.
- Risk analysis and mitigation (for configuring and implementing new networks).
- Managing user accounts, permissions, access, and security planning like anti-virus, anti-spam etc.
- Setting up and configuring of new laptops and desktops.
- Ensure security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops.
- Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot printers, computer hardware and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
- Generate and manage trouble tickets using BMC remedy tool and participate in the change management process where needed.
- Prioritize incidents and change requests based on defined criteria and service level agreements and effectively communicate with the customer on incident status.
- Provide continuous status updates to Remedy work logs to be viewed by Service Desk Analysts and by the user community to ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is available.
- Participate in technology projects, quality assurance testing and other activities as assigned.
- Requesting and coordinating vendor support.
- Participate in all meetings associated with the business development.
- Maintain documents and reports for IT infrastructure and provide support to all procedures and processes.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT Manager.
- Support and maintain MS Server/Desktops and MS Exchange.
- Onsite installation of new PCs and locally attached peripherals such as printers, image scanners. The installation includes site readiness inspection to verify availability of proper desktop, power outlets, & network outlets.
- Installation of additional authorized Software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat professional, and Autodesk AutoCAD etc. as per user’s requirements.
- Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops.
- Preparation and onsite installation of Networked Printers.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software for PCs & Peripherals.
- Best effort recovery of lost user’s data caused by hardware or software failures and user errors.
- Joining the domain, move users profile Installation of desktop hardware and software applications, security updates, and security packs.
- Arrange to install, configure, move, add, and Change of IP Telephone sets, fax and internet connections for the company offices and Facilities based on approved requests.
- Provide support for IP telephony to the end-users; troubleshooting, configuration changes, queries, etc.
- IT asset data collection on regular basis.
- Reporting faults and maintaining logs on the servers, desktops and laptops.
- Client side networking including patch cord & wall socket and tracing up to the switch.
- Ensuring all software purchased licensing is recorded and maintained.
- Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
- Prepare documents, meeting materials and correspondence.
- Assist and / or train the users on basic computer usage.
