For company’s global finance operations & Opportunity-to-Cash applications, following is a brief list of tasks:
- Manage application development projects: periodic releases, functional enhancement, user interface
improvements, bug fixes, maintenance and middleware components design.
- Manage data center suppliers: Infrastructure projects, hosting initiatives, billings, service quality & issues.
- Manage and ensure up-to-date and effective security & disaster recovery plans of various landscapes:
production, QA and Development.
- Periodically review application architecture and propose optimization solutions (Hardware and software).
- Ensure continued services of the platform with acceptable application response times to end users.
In this role I am managing the technical sales, service delivery as well as project delivery processes & activities involved in designing and delivering PTCI (Petro-Technical Computing Infrastructure) solutions to clients in Oil & Gas industry.
• The clients are: KOC (Kuwait Oil Company), KGOC (Kuwait Gulf Oil Co.), Joint Operations (SAC & KGOC), KEC (Kuwait Energy), KUFPEC & others.
• The PTCi solutions include:
- HPC (High Performance Computing) Clusters for Reservoir Engineering Simulation.
- Visualization Solutions such as: 3D Visualization Centers, RTOC (Real-Time Operations Centers), Drilling Operations Decision-Making Centers & Collaborations Centers. Using technologies from BARCO, CYVIZ & others.
- Information Management Solutions that are consisting of multiple components such as servers, storages, high end workstations & applications.
- Real-Time Data Aggregation and Delivery Solutions: from rig sites to client premises.
- SIS special Infrastructure solutions such as SCM (Simulation Cluster Manager) and LiveQuest (used for virtualizing E&P Applications and centralizing storages).
Key Achievements:
• Project Name: KOC RTDDC (Real Time Drilling Decision Center).
• Project Objectives: A turnkey project to build a multidisciplinary collaboration solution to enhance the drilling operations efficiency and minimize the drilling non-productive time (NPT).

• Project Scope:
- Turn-key build and support for two ergonomically designed Real Time Drilling Centers, equipped with state-of-the-art visualization technologies.
- Provision of real-time data aggregation and monitoring software & hardware
- VSAT connectivity at 27 rig site locations
- Data delivery for rig drilling parameters
- Design and configure an office-based data repository
- Software Training services
- Continue on-site support of the centers for 4 years
Full accountability for country-wide IT Infrastructure Projects and Services.
• Services include connectivity for offices as well as well-site field locations, messaging, distributed services, collaboration, security, telephony & enterprise desktop computing.
• Responsible for designing, budgeting & implementing of all managed services for new facilities, renovations as well as growth & sustainability purposes.
• Facilitate and manage connectivity solutions at well-site to enable real-time data delivery for field operations.
• Ensure stability and 24x7 availability of all IT services
• Manage activities of IT support operation.
• Maintain customer satisfaction, user PTIs & service KPIs at highest levels according to pre-defined SLAs/OLAs.

Key Achievements:
- 42% reduction on yearly Telco lines cost; WAN, telephony, ISDN, etc.
- Implemented IP-telephony solution with a potential saving of ~ $ 500 K / year.
- Designed and implemented all technologies for new main office.

- Provide 24x7 server support; ensure ~ 100% availability & functionality using remote monitoring tools such as HP-OVO, DELL OpenManage.
- Design, procure & deploy Infrastructure servers: Mail, AD, DNS, DHCP, File, Print, and Backup Servers.
- Maintain server protection, patching level and handle backup & restoration.
- Develop and maintain managed-servers' dashboard.
Role #2 : Team Lead - Infrastructure Solutions:
In charge of designing, deploying and supporting of infrastructure services for non-standard locations (3 countries, 15 sites, 2, 000 users/computers):
- Server Hardware Platform: Benchmarking & Standardization.
- Mail Services: SurgeMail & MailSweeper for Windows.
- Customized laptop/desktop standard image development.
- Centralized Desktop & Server Security Solution: F-Secure Security Suites.
- Supervise daily IT operations and Ensure IT services availability (WAN, LAN, DNS, AD, E-Mail, video conferencing, etc.).
- Exceeding or achieving monthly, quarterly & yearly SLAs.
- Supplier handling: evaluating proposals, testing equipment’s, negotiating prices, negotiating & finalizing maintenance contracts.

Project # 1: Connected Backup Solution
To design and deploy an Automated Network Backup Solution for workstations:
- Designed, installed and standardized the connected backup solution for Middle East region.
- Windows 2000 server hardening & tuning.
- Addressed impact of solution on corporate LAN & WAN traffic.
- Project Documentation (Entire server H/W, S/W, OS hardening & Solution installation).
Project # 2: PKI Deployment
(Corporate badge deployment + Entrust Desktop Encryption & VPN solution)- managed Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Egypt users' deployment:
- Preparing users lists for deployment as per corporate LDAP.
- Coordinating PKI badge delivery & Entrust certificates creation.
- Installing Entrust Desktop solutions & Checkpoint secure remote VPN solutions on users' machines.
- Troubleshoot issues with applications, Smart Card readers, PKI cards or certificates.
- Conduct classroom training for users on the new technologies and their benefits.
