Position: Category Buyer/Procurement Specialist
Role : Accomplish supply chain continuity by timely buying of indented materials and services mainly from vendors ranging from Original manufacturers, Dealers-Distributors, trading agents and International vendors. Catered to specific categories of Items that were rotated regularly
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for procurement of materials, equipments and services required as per Operations & Maintenance (O&M) sections in Nuclear Power Plant, from requirement initiation stage to post-award activities and ensured that the requirements are met in a safe, compliant, timely, and efficient manner to accomplish safe and reliable operation and maintenance of Power Plant.
• Participated and formulated in Bid strategy formulation, BOQ review, SoW review, preparation of RFQ/RFI, EQ, Bid evaluation, Deviations-clarifications settlement, INCOTEMRS, Terms & Conditions settlement, Negotiations, award of contract/Purchase Orders, Bid securities, Kick-off meeting, PO execution cum follow-up, PO amendments, et al.
• Non-conformance/Discrepancy/Dispute resolution with vendors
• Review and adherence to Quality control measures and assistance to QA
• Supported creation of LTAs, Blanket/Outline Agreements
• Emergency procurement, Safety-related procurement, Imported Items
• Stake-holder engagement with regular meetings and Site visits
• Ensured that all work carried out is of the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with the department and company-wide quality assurance program
• Working knowledge of SAP-Procurement, iOracle

-Nov-2011 to June-2017 as Deputy Manager Contracts in Operational NPP - Tarapur Atomic Power Station (2 Twin Units of total 1400 MWe) and after promotion from July-2017 as Manager Contracts in under-construction Kakrapar Atomic Power Project (2 Twin Units of total 1840 MWe).
Role : Contracts and Materials Procurement Manager with job responsibilities involved activities comprising of :
• Review of Requirements generated by the Maintenance Divisions, formalization of Scope with discussions and vetting before start of tender process
• Vendor registration/development, Vendor grievance and issues redressal/resolution
• E-tendering process management (Tender documents drafting, tender issuance, Bids opening)
• Bids Techno-commercial evaluation (Comparative Statements preparation)
• Purchase Orders issuance (Drafting, changes/amendments, et al)
• Co-ordination with Legal and Finance teams as required
• Contract monitoring for deliverables and corrective actions implementation
• Contract Securities management and timely upkeep
• Follow-up with vendors to ensure timely delivery/execution
