The Kalba hospital is a 100 bedded JCI accredited referral hospital at eastern coast of U.A.E with acute care facilities and most of the major specialties including Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Intensive care unit, accident and emergency, trauma care and all other general specialties.Equipments include four radiography units (one of them having digital fluoroscopy), 3 portable radiography units, a C-arm machine, a Color Doppler Ultrasonography system, a multislice CT Scanner and a 1.5 tesla MRI (Symphony-Siemens) . We also have a CR system (Fuji) supported by PACS workflow.
Job description:
1. Daily schedule-patients appointments, Quality checking of the equipments.
2. Performing MRI independently, including routine Brain studies, special studies like diffusion imaging, MR spectroscopy, sella and epilepsy studies, neck and base of skull studies, Body imaging, MRCP, MRU, MR myelography and Pelvic studies. All types of Musculo skeletal examinations, MR Breast and MR angiography.
3. Independently performing CT Studies of whole body, dynamic studies, Angiography and post processing.
4. Trains new/junior staff (CT & MRI)
5. Assisting the Radiologist in various Radiological and C.T. guided procedures
6. Attends OT for C-arm, helping orthopedic & surgical procedures.
7. Preparing daily, weekly and monthly statistics of each wing of the department.
8. Maintaining Inventory System.
9. Active participation in CME activities and CME coordinator for ECRA and department of radiology.
10. Second on call for Emergency MRI and CT scan.
11. Active member of hospital quality group.
12. Lead member of MRI protocol review committee- Sharjah Medical District.

The new Sohar hospital is the regional referral center for North Bathina region of Sultanate of Oman, under ministry of health, commissioned in 1997 and hospital is fully computerized since 2001.
Radiology department is the main center for entire North Bathina region and also caters for Buraimi, Musandam & Rostaq regions for CT scan and Doppler studies and it is well equipped with spiral CT scanner ( Siemens) with laser imager, DSI (Philips), X-ray machines with image intensifier and tomographic attachment, OPG, Mammogram, Day light processor etc.
