I managed four network engineers (senior network engineer, senior network administrator, junior network administrator, and junior telecommunication engineer) and one senior security engineer / analyst. As the network and operation manager, I handled technical management duties, monitored projects progress, assigned technical duties and responsibilities, and wrote reports for senior managements. In addition, I reviewed weekly and monthly reports before delivery to the client.
Responsibilities:
· Maintained 98 percent of uptime on all mission critical systems including WAN (Wide Area Network) links, LAN (Local Area Network) equipment, NT and Novell servers, Web servers, phone system, network security, Internet connectivity, Internet mail, connectivity with other mission critical servers at remote sites such as DOE-HQ and DOE Las Vegas, and VPN concentrator and remote clients / VPN clients).
· Prepare the annual Telecommunication and Operation budget and serving on technical committees and working groups. Serving as technical consulting expert for RSIS Headquarters and other government contracts.
· Design, implement and maintain a Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution for remote users and remote sites using Check-Point VPN-1 2000, CISCO 3000 concentrator, and Citrix solution.
· Maintain the documentation of all networks and communication equipment.
· Maintain, support and monitor the DNS (Domain Name Service) server and DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server.
