As the leading pediatric hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has General Care Area, Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, and Emergency Department where I spent most of my years there. I was also the Assistant Manager for the ED where I supervised about 20 Respiratory Therapists, including making schedules, creating education, and making policies and guidelines.
• Provide respiratory care for patients on the inpatients floors, ICUs, adult Emergency Department, and pediatric Emergency Department
• Types of patients include but not limited to: people with COPD, Emphysema, Cardiac arrest, Congestive Heart Failure, Stroke, Trauma, etc. who may or may not be on ventilator support
• Managed 25 direct reports, balanced departmental schedules, and doing yearly evaluation
• Implemented a Pediatric ICU - worked with intensivists to create Pediatric Ventilator Protocol, guidelines for Respiratory Therapies, medication administration, etc.
• Created education and trained RTs that were cross-training for the Pediatric ICU
