Responsibility as Fire Protection Specialist:
* Inspection of existing Firefighting system and Fire alarm system and checking compliance with respect to Saudi Building code SBC 201 and Saudi Fire Code SBC 801.
* Preparation of Fire Investigation Report and forwarding it to the concerned team.
* Investigate and identify non-compliance with codes and standards.
* Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of project
* Act as a connection between subcontractors and consultants.
* Act as a consultant responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance of Fire pumps, sprinkler system, standpipe system, foam sprinkler system and Fire Detection and Alarm system.
* Attending all project related meeting with consultants, main contractors and subcontractors for tracking the status of generated Fire Investigation Report.
* Review and verify Life Safety and Fire Protection Engineering m design drawings, documents and equipment specifications.
* Develop basic design and manual hydraulic calculation for automatic sprinkler system and standpipe system, in order to determine the rated pressure and capacity of Fire pump.
* Calculation of egress time for occupants in a building using NFPA, SFPE regulations. (Hydraulic model).
* Engage in Evacuation drills and adhere to the guidelines outlined in International Fire Code.
* Examine actual fire incidents and any unusual events related to Fire and Life Safety, Fire suppression and detection system
Responsibility as Design and Estimation Engineer:
* Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.
* Gather proposals, specifications and related documents and liaise with stakeholders in order to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current products
* Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review
* Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of project
* Act as a connection between subcontractors, design team (architects, engineers, consultants), and client
* Collaborate with operations staff and other estimators to ensure that General Conditions and Requirement items are appropriately captured in the estimate.
* Analyze supplier quotes and provide information and data, which aids communications with suppliers and customers and achieves cost optimization.
* Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements
* Assist the management for post tender commercial negotiations with client and vendors as well to reach competitive pricing.
Responsibility as Design and Estimation Engineer:
* Estimation of Fire-fighting systems & Fire Alarm System.
* Supporting the sales manager with any task or objective assigned accordingly by him.
* Reviewing & validating the received documents including specifications, drawings, etc., and collecting the necessary information & documents from client/ consultant to complete the estimation.
* Co-ordinating with other departments in the process of producing commercial proposals.
* Providing the value engineering solution in-line with International & AHJ requirements.
* Evaluating supplier Quotations, Quote comparatives and attending meetings with supplier for quality & price negotiations.
* Keeping strong team relationships by working closely with the Project Management during the design document/ drawings preparation phase of the project.
* Preparation of Cost estimation, Specification Compliance, Manual Flow Calculations in-lined with technical specifications with minimum AHJ requirements & internal company policies.
* Developing relationships with suppliers / sub-contractors to obtain the latest market information.
* Attending client's technical meeting & providing technical clarification on proposal.
Responsibility as an Estimation Engineer:
* Study the drawings and tender document (Client Requirement and Recommendations).
* Analysis the base drawings.
* Technical review of client documents and preparing the technical queries if any.
* Refer the national codes (NFPA, NBC and TAC).
* Knowledge in latest Fire protection equipment and accessories.
* Send the Enquiries to suitable suppliers and collect the quotation from them.
* Prepare the costing, commercial offer and making Technical, commercial comparisons, Product data sheets.
* Prepare the supply and execution target price to purchase department.
* Designing of Gas suppression, Foam, Hydrant, MVWS, HVWS, Sprinkler systems theoretically as per NFPA Standards and Estimating after arriving the BOM/BOQ
Responsibility as a Planning Engineer:
* Conversation with Client and Consultant and attending kick-of meeting, minute of meeting to discuss about the project.
* Study the drawing and Tender document
* Reviewing the documents and preparing technical queries
* Sending enquiries to the suppliers in correspondence to the make mentioned in Tender document and collecting the quotation from them
* Preparation of direct costing, indirect costing and commercial offer
* Designing the Fire Protection System/ Fire Alarm System in accordance to NFPA, FM Global, TAC and IS norms.
* Approval of design from Client/ Consultant and changing the drawing in accordance to current site condition
* Preparation of Project Schedule using Microsoft Project representing a time schedule for the activities to be completed on time
* Preparation of Supply and Erection Target Price to Procurement Team
