-I Was involved in selection, procurement of critical equipments like:
Cooling towers (M/S Dong Hae Industrial company, Busan South Korea), heat exchangers (Tranter phe - Sweden), CO2 removal (Technip), Heater (Linde), Cetriugal compressors.
• Preparation of PFD, P& ID’s, Process Datasheets, Operating Manual and technical procurement of process Equipment and evaluation of vendor offers and review of vendor document.
• To keep a track on Key Process parameters & ensure that Modules are operating in a safe manner & at Optimum level. Also to ensure that Standard Work Procedures & Work Instructions are being strictly followed by all.
• To keep a track on various raw materials like Iron Oxide, Syn gas, Water, Seal gas, Nitrogen etc and take suitable action incase of any deviation so as to protect the Plant Equipments.
• To monitor various specific consumptions per MT of DRI produced, to keep the specific consumptions at the minimum possible level & efforts towards cost reduction.

Cooling towers (M/S Dong Hae Industrial company, Busan South Korea), heat exchangers (Tranter phe - Sweden), R/O units (M/S Metito- KSA), Sand Filters, Reformer tubes (Schmidt - Clemens Spain) & catalyst (M/S Midrex technologies -USA), Hydrocyclone ( Weirminirals, UK)
• To ensure that Customer specifications with respect to both Chemical Composition & Physical Size are within the mutually agreed upon limits.
• Major Shut down Activities - Replacement of Reformer Tubes, 324 nos. (May, 2011)
- Choosing desired catalyst profile in consultation with M/S Midrex.
- Replacement of Reformer tube Blocks & related refractory.
- Furnace Gunning with Versagun 50

• To ensure that Modules are operating as per the Daily Operating instructions given by Manager- (Operations).
• To prepare the shut down job list & to ensure that shut down goes off within the stipulated time frame & without any unexpected eventuality
• To keep a track on Natural Gas quality & set the parameters as advised by Manager (Operations).
• Control of Process safety interlock and Equipment safety interlock
• Finding out bottlenecks of product quality and maintain good quality product and insuring the safety of equipment and men. During breakdowns convey information to subordinate departments and take proper action.

Overall responsible for the smooth operation of DRI Kilns ( Rotary Kilns Lurgi technology, SL/RN process )
• To issue the DOI (Daily Operating Instructions) as per the Day’s Production planning.
• To set the Production target for the Month, keeping an eye on the Physical Stock level of various Raw Materials, Consumables & sometimes based on their expected delivery period.
• To prepare the Shift Manning & always ensure that adequate qualitative staff are available all the time in the shift to tackle the abnormal Plant conditions.
• To plan for the annual shut down & ensure indenting of the materials well in advance so that there is no delay in the annual plan.
• To ensure the Safety of the Plant & People working in the plant & to clear the non-conformity when need arises.
• To make plant rounds & ensure that plant is neat & tidy by proper house keeping which is a part of everybody’s responsibility & to ensure the Plant availability as per the commitment to the Top management.
