• Ensure Fire & Safety operations supporting a vast network of thirteen major hospitals and more than 20 medical facilities in Qatar with a culturally diverse workforce of 20, 000+ employees from 65 countries.
• Manage and improve Fire & Safety programs that comply with all required fire & safety standards and regulations that include Qatar Civil Defense, Joint Commission International (JCI), NFPA, BS, OSHA etc.
• Championed the efforts that secured HMC’s inaugural Joint Commission International accreditation status and reaccreditations.
• Advice management about all matters related to ensuring safety in the facilities under HMC.
• Ensure proper safety training to employees, project team and contractors.
• Conduct Safety assessments and report to safety committee for corrective measures.
• Make sure construction activities are carried out following HMC Safety work permit system.
• Managed Fire & Safety operations of the IFFCO Kalol Unit with facilities that include Ammonia, Urea, Utility & Offsite plants, Warehouses and other related facilities.
• Ensure Fire & Safety practices are as per Factory Act, DGFASLI and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Monitor and implement the need for updating the safety practices as and when necessary mainly due to plant renovations, changes in codes and standards etc.
• Ensure all the risk assessments, internal and external audits are conducted and followed as per required standards and regulations.
• Make sure that the safety work permit system is updated and followed properly during all construction activities and annual shutdown activities.
• Arrange Liaison with Factory Inspectorate for all matters related to Factory Act compliance.
• Arrange proper job specific safety training to all employees and contractors.
Executive MBA in in Occupational Health & Safety Leadership, a joint venture course by Canadian Society of Safety Engineers (CSSE) & University of Fredericton, Canada.
