Conducts environmental compliance inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with environmental requirements including EIA, permits, and the project’s regulatory requirements which include audits, environmental compliance implementation by the delivery packages.
Oversee Contractors GroundTruthing contaminated boundary delineation and site soil characterization activities for logging of soil core and performing sampling of contaminated soil in accordance with Company’s approved Work Method Statements.
Prepares day to day field progress reports and keep updated to the management.
Reviews and provide feedback for WMS in line with the technical specifications for the environmental activities.
Responsible for field activities for the successful execution of remediation programs including implementation, excavation supervision, confirmatory sampling and handling of field equipment RemScan for field screening.
Oversee and Managing EIA’s, ambient air monitoring, wastewater issues, HSE, environmental and waste management.
Complying and implementing KOC’s Health & Safety policies.
Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Contaminated Sites Group.
•Assess and quantify Hazardous waste and develop SOP for handling & management of hazardous Waste.
•Conduct environmental survey and auditing to ensure that the environmental standards are being maintained and properly applied complying KEPA regulations.
•Evaluate waste management options and apply a waste hierarchy model in order to reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, and dispose of waste material.
•Prepare a waste profile sheet for each kind of waste generated and Identify disposal options.
•Liaise with company personnel in developing an appropriate and user-friendly waste management system.
• Coordinate the documentation required to label, move, track, and report waste and waste initiatives.
• Develop Sampling plan, collection, transportation, segregation (as per hazard class), treatment, storage, and disposal of Hazardous waste.
• Assess and quantify Oily contaminated soil and monitor treatment of oily contaminated soil by Soil Washing System & Bioremediation and coordinate testing.
• Develop Recycling and Disposal plans for Disposal of Hazardous waste to the approved disposal facility
• Developed and run environmental awareness programs to company and contractor employees.
• Select the appropriate methodologies & techniques for collection, handling, transportation & disposal/treatment of hazardous waste material generated from the oil production facility.
• Implement the proper methodologies and techniques for the treatment of hazardous waste in waste treatment yards.
• Ensure to implement all company’s and governmental environmental standards and regulations.
• Coordinate waste management activities with the foreman regarding to all services.
• Liaise with recycling companies as required for managing recyclable wastes and liaise with KOC approved waste disposal facilities as required for managing disposal wastes.
• Successfully Implemented USEPA best practices for the recycling of waste by recovering the fuels.
