- Work proactively with the OEM to make product and architectural recommendations. Examples would include technical suitability, cost/performance evaluation, technical trends, migration considerations, proof of concept, configuration testing, and OEM application assistance.
- Work with OEMs to understand industry standards and appropriate programming techniques for targeted industry segments.
- Work closely with the OEM engineering staff (controls and mechanical) to assist them in the successful implementation of Company's Control solutions.
- Work as a cooperative team member with the Business Development Manager, OEM Program Manager and Key Account Manager to help plan and prioritize the activities, which will generate the greatest value for the OEM and Company.
- Responsible for developing control systems utilizing new automation platforms, including; Control Logix and Soft Logix with Motion Control. This responsibility includes implementing all steps of design process; architecture, configuring and quotation, test and trial, software/hardware development, industry compliance, and startup/commissioning.
- Act as the technical focal point for Company's product group interface. Examples include technical requirement definition, beta site evaluation, new product requirements, communication/resource coordination related to quality administration.
- Provide technical input to the product businesses relative to industry standards and requirements.
- Responsible for developing program routines and modular techniques, tools and test systems at these OEMs.
- Responsible for development of engineering standards, methods and guidelines related to the application of Company’s technologies with the OEM
- Document the value of these engineering activities showing these OEMs the cost savings they will receive by having company's assistance.
- Convert application knowledge & experience into added value for the business through writing application guides, bulletins, white papers, best practices and through the training of customers
and internal staff.
- Provide the tools and technical support to enable customer employees & channel partners to take over the developments of repeated applications.
