i. Review various department’s policies and related procedures for adequacy. To assess the Board or its delegated authority/senior management oversight over the internal control.
ii. Review the existence and adequacy of processes in place that ensure compliance with the relevant Qatar Central Bank (QCB) instructions relating to the activities under review.
iii. Review the organization structure of the unit and determine the adequacy of the manpower to discharge the functions more effectively.
iv. Review the appropriateness of the reporting lines for the activities under review.
v. Review the various reports generated / produced pertaining to the department that are submitted to the Board/ its delegated authority and to senior management. We reviewed the referenced reports for adequacy and accuracy.
i. Evaluate the effectiveness of the control and adequacy of the internal policies and procedures relating to Islamic Banking activities and processes.
ii. Oversees and participates in the audit work such as developing program work plan, monitor work flow, reviews and evaluates work products, method and procedures.
iii. Conduct the annual risk assessment in tandem with the annual planning on all banking activities and processes.
iv. Participate in annual budgeting and planning process as well as monitor its progress.
v. To conduct training and development program to the other colleagues to keep abreast with the latest and current development surrounding Islamic Banking and Finance issues.
vi. To attend and assist the Chief Audit Executive in presenting the Shariah Audit report to the Management Committee, Audit Board Committee and Shariah Committee meeting.
vii. Coordinate and lead the audit assignment, and to ensure that the audit report is submitted on timely basis.
viii. Experienced in auditing majority of the banking activities such as Consumer Products, Credit, Treasury, Trade Finance, Sukuk & Debt Market and Takaful.
Shariah Audit \ni. To ensure that the specific conditions of the applicable \nIslamic contracts are fulfilled. \nii. To ensure that the product feature should be free from \nRiba (usury) \niii. To review whether the terms & conditions are be free from Gharar (ambiguity), Maisir (speculation) and injustice. \niv. The product documents should comply with the tenets/pillars of Aqad (contract) \n \n \nCredit Administration \ni. To review and to assess the internal control of centralisation of Consumer and Commercial loans \ndocumentation, disbursement and administration to facilitate faster turnaround time of loan documentation as well as smooth disbursement /release of loans/credit \nfacilities. \nii. To review and assess the Consumer Sales Officers at \nSales & Service Centres (SSCs) and Business Centres \n(BCs) concentrate on marketing the Banks loan \nproducts without having to follow up on completion of loan documentation prior to release of the \nloans/facilities to customers. \niii. To assess monitoring and control on the release of funds and other credit functions. \niv. To review the training of staff in specialised \ncredit-related functions.
i. Ascertain a sound risk management is in place, \nadequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and operational policies/procedures. \nii. Evaluate the asset quality of the MFB Branches. \niii. Assess the management of the MFB Branches. \niv. Evaluate accuracy, timeliness, reliability and completeness of accounting records and management \ninformation reporting. \nv. Identify other shortcomings and weaknesses if any, and to recommend corrective measures. \nvi. Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory \nrequirements for activities carried out by Branch in relation to Banking and Financial Institutions Act, Hire \nPurchase Act, Unclaimed Monies Act, Bankruptcy Act, \nawareness of Anti-Money Laundering Act and Stamp \nDuty Act. \nvii. To provide an assurance to the Audit Committee of the \nBoard on the reasonableness of figures reported in the interim financial report quarterly.
