Worked with the General Manager to introduce Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for managerial positions, and Staff Performance Appraisals based on Excel spreadsheet. Accomplishments include the termination and transfer of 137 tribal employees to a gold mining company and the introduction of HR policies and standard
operating procedures.
Headed the university-industry partnership office and accountable for reaching out to industries and businesses in an effort to develop university-industry relationship that would lead to collaboration in research, industrial training and internship programmes for academic staff and students. The initiative is part of the government’s effort to utilise the intellectual capacities of universities to develop human capital necessary for the successful transformation of the country into a high income and developed nation. Worked closely with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment in carrying out activities that support the university’s core roles of education, research and service.
Provided training solutions and conducted training to the Royal Malaysian Air Force
personnel. Conducted interviews of CEOs of major Islamic banks and insurance companies
as part of a study on the Training Needs of the financial sector which was commissioned by
the Asian Institute of Finance, an organisation established by Bank Negara Malaysia and the
Securities Commission of Malaysia.
Responsible for the establishment of a learning & development department, and formulating and implementing strategies for the development of employees including preparing staff
training needs analysis and mentoring programme. Accomplishments include the successful establishment of the Company’s Learning & Development department and introducing the Staff Mentoring programme.
Designed and conducted programmes for staff induction, business excellence, customer-focused mindset, customer service and communication.
Provided organisational development consultancy to organisations, and designing training programs for institutions including ‘soft skills’ training courses for Royal Malaysian Air Force. Also lectured part-time students on human resources management subjects including compensation, at the Institute of Manufacturing, Kuala Lumpur.
Supervised 17 personnel including 3 HR professionals and established strategic plans for the recruitment of talent for various projects undertaken by the Group. This include recruitment of specialists (design architects and engineers) required for successful implementation of housing projects. As a member of the EXCO, made presentations to the Board on matters relating to Human Resource policies and was involved in identifying and finding training solutions for sales and marketing, customer service and quality issues faced by the Group.
Responsible for planning and implementing appropriate human resource and administrative policies throughout the M K Land Group as well as oversaw the implementation of the M K Land Group’s human resource development programmes, a fair and competitive compensation and employee retention strategies as well as the performance management system. Accomplishments include:
* Formulation, recommendation and acceptance by the Board of Directors of the Performance-based Reward System;
* Review and revision of the Group’s corporate Vision;
* Introduction of Staff Performance Appraisal System
Reporting to the Managing Director/Principal Officer, provided leadership and expertise for the management of human resources, namely, recruitment and termination, staff learning and development, staff policies and benefits, staff performance and TQM as well as labour relations including union negotiations for Collective Agreement.
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, I was responsible for the full spectrum of HR functions including employee training and development as well as the formulation, recommendation and implementation of appropriate human resource and administrative policies throughout the Melewar Group; oversaw the implementation of the Group’s human resource development programmes, a fair and competitive compensation and employee
recruitment and retention strategies as well as the performance management system.
Accomplishments include:
* Introduction of appropriate and improved terms and conditions of employment;
* Introduction of appropriate staff development programmes;

* Organising and introducing (for the first time in the Bank), a consistent promotion policy;
* Appointment as Secretary to the Promotions Board.
