Tuanku Ja’afar Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station, Malaysia (Total Capacity: 1500 MW)

He was attached with Tenaga Nasional Berhad as a Senior Engineer/Head Section for Electrical Maintenance & Engineering Section based at Tuanku Ja’afar Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station, Malaysia. He reports directly to Senior Manager Maintenance & Engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities:
✓ Manage all maintenance & engineering issues including reliablity and engineering, and maintenance execution related to electrical equipment.
✓ To ensure implementation of ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, 5S and other statutory requirements.
✓ To optimize budget planning.
✓ Responsible in the development of maintenance policy based on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM2) tools and update it in SAP system.
✓ To improve plant performance and reliability.
✓ To supervise and provide technical consultation (if required) on the planned maintenance work and overhauls.
✓ To set Yearly Performance Target and perform appraisal for the subordinates.
✓ To be the Action Plan Owner for the station identified risks and responsible for the implementation of risk mitigation plans.
✓ Drive root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
✓ Prepare technical specification for material procurement.
✓ Identify and coordinate plant critical parts.
✓ Undertake crisis scenario and lead crisis team.
✓ Consult, liaise and coordinate with outside technical experts.

Bakun Hydroelectric Project, Malaysia (Total Capacity: 2400 MW)

He was attached with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (Secondment to Sarawak Hidro Sdn. Bhd.) as an Electrical & Instrumentation / Commissioning Engineer based at BAKUN Hydro Electric Power Plant at Sarawak, Malaysia.BAKUN comprises of 4 Units x 300MW from ALSTOM, France and another 4 Units x 300MW from IMPSA, Argentina.
Duties & Responsibilities:
✓ Primary responsibility amongst others is to represent Project Owner (Sarawak Hidro Sdn Bhd) in managing the EPCC Contractors for Electrical, C&I, Testing and Commissioning activities.
✓ Assist the Commissioning Manager in preparing and maintaining the Overall Commissioning Schedule.
✓ Supervise, monitor and coordinate various construction activities between different contractors to ensure adherence to Overall Project / Commissioning Schedule.
✓ To ensure implementation of Employer's Requirements and Design Documents as per Contract with actual Site Installation. Highlight and report any abnormalities and/or risks to Employer that may hinder the progress of project.
✓ Attend all 'Request for Inspection' by Contractors and ensure compliance to Design Requirements and Schedules.
✓ Compile 'End of Erection Inspection' protocols and ensure system readiness to proceed with Commissioning.
✓ Review and maintain an updated revision of all electrical & instrumentation schematics & drawings and other documents which may get modified during commissioning.
✓ Prepare Deficiency/Endorsement Lists for every completed system and unit. This list will then be handed over to Contractor during Take-Over as deficiencies to be rectified during Defect Liability Period. DLP is for a period of 24 months from Take-Over.
✓ Review and comment on Contractor's T&C Protocols and Method of Statements.
✓ Witness all commissioning tests and subsequently prepare Commissioning Test Report for every system and equipment.

Pergau Hydroelectric Power Plant, Malaysia (Total capacity: 600 MW)

Duties & Responsibilities:
✓ Responsible to develop and ensure implementation of Maintenance Policy based on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM2) tools and update it in SAP system (Plant Maintenance and Material Management Module).
✓ Responsible to lead any plant defects troubleshooting works and prepare Root Cause Analysis report.
✓ Responsible to prepare yearly Operational and Capital Expenditure budget and monitor the utilisation/implementation.
✓ Responsible as an Authorize Person to produce Permit to Work (PTW), carry out switching, isolation and normalization of electrical equipments up to 275 kV voltage system.
✓ Responsible to prepare yearly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and ensure its achievements for Electrical Maintenance Section.
✓ Responsible to ensure implementation of ISO standards e.g. ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001.
✓ Responsible for design review, installation and commissioning of Turbine Governing Control System Rehabilitation Project for 4 X 150MW hydro generator.
✓ Responsible to ensure sufficient spares and tools for Electrical Maintenance Section
✓ Responsible to prepare Monthly Report, Plant Annual Inspection Report, Plant Tripping/Outage Report, Training Report etc.
✓ Responsible to prepare yearly planning for subordinates development/training programs to improve competency.
✓ Responsible to ensure implementation of programs as per internal and external audits recommendations.
✓ Responsible to identify risk, prepare mitigation action plan and ensure its implementation to avoid losses to the company.
✓ Responsible to lead one of the Plant Technical Standby Team.
✓ Responsible to develop 5S program/planning and ensure implementation of 5S for Electrical Maintenance Section.
✓ Responsible to develop yearly plan for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs for local communities and ensure its implementation.
