Support the Construction Manager in delivering specific output and responsibilities which could include:
• Planning and managing works of all disciplines to ensure compliance with relevant contract requirements, specification and standards, safety cases etc.
• Direct the site inspectors with respect to Health and Safety performance, Hazard & Risk identification and reporting.
• Review and monitor site inspector’s performance to ensure works are being conducted to the approved methodology, specific method statements, risk assessments and ITP’s (Inspection and Test Plans).
• Reviews of construction/engineering methods, procedures, policies and ITP’s to ensure the Contractor is in compliance.
• Responsible for the review of all documentation and the quality of the prepared engineering plans, specifications and shop drawings.
• Identifying site issues/defected work or non-compliance/approved materials and raising non-conformance report (NCR) after consulting the construction Manager and the QA Engineer assigned to the work place. Also following up the NCR at site once the Close Out actions have been agreed.
• Reviews and assesses possible contract changes with the commercial manager assigned to the site works and reports accordingly to the Construction Manager.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings or more frequently if required with the contractor and staff and reports back to the Construction Manager.
• Responsible for ensuring delivery of Health and Safety on site by the Contractor and sub-contractors.
• Ensure the implementation of all relevant Health & Safety and fire Safety requirements.
• Monitor all necessary licenses and permits are in place.
• Provide the Construction Manager with site information as and when required.
• Report to the Construction Manager and be able to undertake duties as assigned with the minimum of supervision.
• As directed assist or represent the Construction Manager with local authorities or other organizations/outside parties (i.e. MOT and utility companies) to resolve technical, environmental and safety issues. In addition, act responsibly with regards to issues involving the public and immediate neighbors to the work.
• Liaison with the site management to ensure effective co-ordination of the works with regards inspections and investigations.
• Monitor all site staff to ensure they are experienced and, technically competent and trained to the applicable Health and Safety legislation and that the Site Inspectors are provided with technical support as required to resolve any construction related issues.
• Interface with design team on the resolution of technical problems and ensure that all drawings are approved and issued for construction with the latest revision.
• Responsible for ensuring delivery of Health and Safety on site by the Contractor and sub-contractors.
• Ensuring active engagement of team members by delegation of tasks to the appropriate person both on a long term and on a day-to-day basis.
• Support projects execution and project controls efforts by leading Planning Managers/Planning Engineers.
• Develop project control systems to satisfy project requirements
• Monitoring and controlling Project Schedule of works.
• Guide and direct resolution of project difficulties and complex control problems.
• Interact with clients and attend regular meetings and provide reports.
• Communicating project status with other department team.
• Ensure all materials meet or exceed the contract specifications.
• Coordinate and schedule field testing and performance QA/QC inspections.
• Monitor daily construction activities and materials delivered to the site.
• Work inspection IR, MIR, MAR preparation and execution with consultant to focus to get the approval.
• Concentrate the Nonconformance, Site observation notice, issues from consultants.
• Inducting engineers related with advanced technology of construction method with quality implementations.
• Responsible for management of materials delivery and storage on site.
• Act as liaison between subcontractors and contractors to ensure adequate supply of resources.
• Preparing the as-built drawings for the supplier.
• Managing the sub-contractor (erection team) on site by coordinating with the main contractor to provide all necessary means for commencing the erection works.
• Responsible for the erection and testing, final handing over of the structural steel elements.
• Coordinate with site inspectors and consultants to check the ongoing project status and development.
• Maintain reports of sub- contractors for proper execution of key projects on a daily basis.
• Ensure the material quality and installation of steel members as per prescribed standards and approved drawings.
