Interpret customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in production.
Line responsibility for up to 5 Application engineers Application Engineering team when performing project lead
role.
- Line management of a team of Application Engineers including appraisal, training and administrative control.
Motivate, develop and evaluate assigned personnel and to advise on salary plans and other employee benefit
programs. Working with the Engineering Manager & Personnel Manager to assist in the Interview and selection
Engineering Staff.
- To be totally responsible for the engineering of large-scale/technically complex systems projects. Will be
required to use a high degree of analytical thinking, creativity and resourcefulness in solving unique technically
complex problems. To be able through experience and specialized knowledge, to interpret the client’s technical
requirements, advise on engineering philosophies and solutions, the overall designs of the system and the
application of Invensys Process System (IPS) products.
- When required, to be responsible for the project management of small to medium scale systems projects.
Briefly, project management involves total responsibility for compliance with the contract as regards the system
performance, profitability and delivery schedule.
- Review related industry engineering estimates to assist the Engineering Manager in assessing .best in class.
Practice and procedure.
- Assist Technical Services Manager in achieving the financial objectives of the total Technical Services
Operation.
- All aspects of engineering, including and not limited to:
- System specification, design, implementation and review for in-house and 3rd party supply.
- Work package identification, estimation & planning
- Validation of system design and architecture, appreciation of the application
- Software structure, verification of configuration specification, hardware, Specification, processor and
marshalling cabinet layout and system interface to the field.
- Technical compliance to customers specification
- Technical co-ordination of client factory/site acceptance tests.
- Ensure that the correct project procedures are followed and that QA requirements are fully satisfied.
- Ensure all relevant technical information is communicated to all relevant parties Schedule, attend and document
meetings as appropriate.
Plan, coordinate and supervise the configuration and programming of equipment to meet the project
specifications
- Provide support functions not directly related to the execution of sales order projects:
- Prepare engineering estimates for customer quotations
- Provide technical support to sales staff, including pre-order discussions with prospective clients.
- Provide technical support to Customer Services, including support to Field.
- Service and Customer Training.
- Training of systems engineers.
- Provide technical evaluation of vendors equipment, Assist when necessary in the development or upgrading of
internal engineering/department procedures.
- To be aware of the development of existing and new Invensys hardware and software products.
-To comply with Health and Safety guidelines and work in accordance with Company/Department Quality
procedures.
-Undertake any other reasonable task as required.
- Start up & Commissioning.
- Trouble Shooting.
