Upgraded databases to 19c for both test instance and production, test from 12.2 to
19.0.0 using DBUA and production from 18.0.0 to 19.3.0 using dump.
o Database monitoring and maintenance activities include checking alert log, space
management, and database locking issues, data replication on different nodes via
materialized view and data guard lag, database errors and system resource
availability and responding to system memory issues and scheduling cronjobs.
o Daily check of whether the scheduled cronjobs have been completed or not and
taking corrective measures if not done
o Copying of backups to external disks
o RMAN Backups, restore and export import using data pump utility, Maintaining
Daily, monthly, weekly rman and data pump backups and testing RMAN Disaster
recovery scenario.
o Managing tablespaces, data files, schemas objects and limiting non application users
grants.

o Checking Oracle Performance like optimizer stats, chained rows, SGA usage, index
utilization etc
o Checking file system utilization
o Reviewing Oracle RAC cluster by checking cluster logs, SCAN listener check,
interconnectivity check etc
o Review of Oracle DB growth by checking datafile physical size, size of 5 largest
tables, tables purging.
Constant monitoring of alert log and trace files.
o Managing 11g RAC Database on ASM storage for Ministry of Health (MOH).
o Monitoring database health/status through Oracle Enterprise Manager.
o Performing daily backups
o Monitoring daily backup logs and backup space utilisation.
o Checking server file system and EVA storage space utilisation.

o Monitoring HP IRS events, EVA storage events, HP Blade Enclosure and Server

o SQL*Loader to load civil information data comprising of more than million records
on monthly basis.
o Make sure backups are copied to tape drives. Creating backup jobs through Data
Protector Manager (a utility by HP). Adding tapes to accommodate new backups.
o Check status of EVA storage through Command View EVA software.
o Check server and hardware status through HP Blade system Onboard Administrator

o Modifying server gateway through System Management Homepage (SMH).
o Adding new tapes in the tape library and make them ready to be used for copying
daily backups.
o Use tapes to take server OS backup.
o Opening case with HP/Oracle for logged errors.
o Setting time on servers in sync with local time.
o Stopping/starting cluster as when required.
o Powering down the complete cabinet for Datacenter downtime activities.
o Assisting HP support guys on their visits to datacenter.
o Generate EVA storage logs, system logs, logs through HP ILO as and when required
to assist HP online support guys.
o Load PACI data into database on monthly basis.
o Formatting and Installation of Windows Operating Systems in Big/Small Machines.
o Troubleshooting Systems and Machines that are received.
o Installation of Printers and Other hardware in Machines as and when required.
o Checking network connections.
o Installation of Drivers, Software on Machines (Big/Small Kiosk Machines).
o Formatting Systems as and when required.
o Configuration of Software in Machines as and when required.
o Replacing damaged parts of big/small kiosk machines.
o Reporting to problems on sites outside company for solving problems related to
