- Reading through original material and rewriting it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained;
- Using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used;

• Recruitment and assessment of focal points with the aim to establish full coverage of Syria,
• Develop terms of reference, contract conditions, and resource/support requirements for the Focal Points (FPs),
• Organize and carry out training for FPs and Researchers,
• Development of training materials and certification system (in partnership with other humanitarian stakeholders),
• Standby capacity to receive and forward any support requirements of the FP network, including safety and security support,
• Receive and forward datasets from the FP network,
• Receive and forward Emergency Alerts from the FP network,
• Communication information requests to the FP network,
• Assist in the dissemination of information to Syria,
• Support an ACU complaint/response mechanism.
- Gathering information:
• Data collection related to humanitarian and recovery needs from local councils, local committees and grassroots organizations. Building contacts and networks,
• Identifying baseline status in various sectors, e.g. number of functional hospitals and clinics in an area,
• Gather, collate and send information to IMU.(Information Management Unit).
- Monitoring projects:
• Checking delivery and implementation of aid and assistance, in line with instructions from IMU,
• Monitoring project progress and reporting on gaps, in accordance with project specifications and indicators,
• Other monitoring and verification as requested,
• Ensuring projects target those most in need in an impartial and inclusive manner.
- Project reporting:
• Reporting on status of implementation or delivery of assistance projects; feeding information up to IMU as part of monitoring and evaluation efforts.
- Coordination and other tasks:
• Coordinating IMU assessments and projects with partners and other IMU staff,
• Recruitment, training and managing researchers on sub-district level.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and hand-outs.
• Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students on topics such as linguistics, sociolinguistics, translation and comprehension.
